I'm sick of Margarito being overhyped like he beat somebody great. He doesn't deserve to fight Mayweather. Baldomir, Hatton, and Cotto are the type of guys who deserve to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr.

those fights were before he became known as the best pound for pound fighter in the world if you know anything. When Mayweather fought Gatti, he trashed Gatti as a C-level opponent (which he is), but he had to destroy a star to become one himself. notice how his popularity SKYROCKETED after he gave Gatti one of the biggest beatdowns I've ever seen. then a couple weeks later Hopkins lost to Taylor and WAHLAH Mayweather becomes the new pound for pound king. He fought Mitchell (who was an accomplished fighter) as a tune-up for Judah (who was in the top 10 p4p before he lost to Baldomir). Now that he is the best in the world, he should only fight guys that deserve to fight him, which is what he is doing. I can name probably 20 guys from 140 to 154 who deserve a fight with Floyd more than Margarito based on beating good credible opponents and fighting good opposition.

I'm gonna explain this to you the easy way. In the pound for pound charts...follow me? there are 10 guys, 10 guys ranked the best in the world. Now, in most sports, and in boxing too...when one guy loses, the guy below him moves up? You with me? This isn't too much is it? Now Floyd Mayweather is undefeated and always has been. He won titles in 3 weight divisions as he made his way up the pound for pound chart. As everyone around him like Mosley, Forrest, De La Hoya, Trinidad, Barrera, and Morales fell with losses...Mayweather remained undefeated and stayed right there around 4 and 5 for a good couple of years. Then Roy Jones lost, and suddenly it's between Hopkins and Mayweather for pound for pound king in 2004. Now Mayweather only fought and beat Corley while Hopkins had an impressive stoppage of De La Hoya to remain p4p king while Mayweather settled for 2nd...that is...until Hopkins lost in 2005, 2 weeks after Mayweather put on a once-in-a-lifetime beatdown of Gatti that showed his mastery of the sport. all he had to do technically was win to keep the spot, but he looked amazing doing it to really put his stamp on it and seal the deal. Mayweather is pound for pound king #1 until he loses. that's the way it is and the way it always has been. otherwise, you think Roy and Hopkins would have been #1 for so long? **** no, they fought nobody from 2000-2004.
