Cool. Right for this first try out I just wanna stick with the 11 players we already got and the 7 fights already mentioned (the 6 listed + Whyte Povetkin). A short season ending in Mid March with Gallo vs Choco just to get a feel for the thing.

I'll start a new thread in the fantasy betting forum tonight or tomorrow and tag in everyone who's shown an interest in this thread, Lay out a few ground rules as outlined above and get the thing rolling.

I think to keep it as simple as possible we should come up with some basic requirements for what fights should be included once we flip to the real Season 1 of this concept.

Like maybe for this game vs the regular game we wanna go more mainstream to max out players. Ideally I don't think we wanna have guys putting money in making picks on guys they've never seen fight, heard of & sometimes can't find fights of like some regular game fights have. So the top TV main or co-main fights of the week or 5 stars on Boxrec fights or top ten indie ranked guys fighting basically. Idk that we should include any fight that doesn't hit one of those marks. Then we don't gotta vote on anything once the game is started & we all know what fights will or won't be included.

I think just cuz of mainstream appeal we should include any big name guy's fights within reason. Like Canelo vs this cat whos name I can't pronounce thats being brought up lately should be in even if its a -2000 Canelo as the favorite fight. But if Tyson comes back & they make Buster Douglas II I'd argue thats more of a novelty fight than a big name guy fight at this stage.

You know what I was just catching up with everything written in this thread & heres my only problem with this: We should just have everyone send the money to someone trustworthy ahead of time (we can vote who holds it out of those willing) the reason I don't agree with the honor system is I think someone might welch(I've been welched on here before, although I guess it wouldn't be the end of the world if someone welched as their name would be dead around here),the other thing I don't like is that the few fights listed aren't enough & theres no big fights listed afaik,so maybe we can add a very select few more fights once they're announced,or extend it til April?(like I said I'm obviously in regardless just thinking out loud

What I'm thinking about here is actually having a real season running May through September maybe, but this being something like a dry run or a pre-season warm up. I mean there ain't really any need to do money stakes for this short season if we didn't want to, but if we're only talking like $20 or so then I figured why not?

Obviously for the main season we'd be looking to attract more players and we'd want a better way of sorting out the stakes - making sure we got someone trusworthy to hold em - but just for now with like 10 - 11 of us I figure honour system should be sufficient... someone doesn't pay up they just ain't allowed into the main season.

In terms of the fights I've literally picked out the best there is on offer.. the actual cream of the crop. If we're looking for bigger fights than these we ain't gonna find all that many, even in the 4 months between May and September if that's what we're thinking of.

In terms of the number of fights, like I say I was only planning on a short trial season cos I didn't want to get bogged down with the work but my initial thought was 10 fights, but it just so happened that there were only six 4* or 5* fights sceduled, 7 now with Sasha vs Dillian, so I figured to get it moving just do those. If the players want to add more I reckon it needs to be by agreement with at least half the players (I'd personally go with 2/3) once folk have already commited their stake, but that's entirely down to what the players want. I'm just kinda facilitating here... trying to get this thing off the ground rather than trying to impose how it's run.

That's kinda the point, try it out now and then if it needs any tinkering or folk want to change anything we can get it right for the main season starting in May.
