Exactly that. He’s improved a lot under Reynoso, but he needs to work on his defense.

He still is nearly as fast as he was 5 years ago, is a dangerous opponent with pop, has good footwork and has stamina. You make it out like a KD by Loma is something that’s bad. Loma made several former and current World champions quit on their stools.
No, I just added those n to point out that it was a normal win of a champion WITH 16 KOs (as you point out--(yes but over how many tin cans on his way up??)over a good fighter, whose best days were a couple of years behind him. And that he was blowing off hot air n an amount that rivalled Lopez. Too young to know that a little modesty is better than a bumptious boasting loudmouth.

You'd think that nobody had ever done it before///..

        Ryan "Spaghetti Legs" Garcia

Ryan Garcia, got spaghetti legs after being dropped and got lucky with the TKO punch. Ryan was visibly shook following being dropped - glass chin on display. He will get demolished by Teofimo or Shakur. He is being propped up to heights he is incapable to achieve.

I don’t disagree but I would say that flaws and all he has tremendous talent, speed, accuracy, and timing. However, if boxing was only about your talents and physical attributes, then we would have all 50/50 fights.

Which leads to Ryan’s defense, footwork, and his fear of being hit. His fear of being hit is something that he hasn’t been able to overcome despite hundreds of amateur bouts and 21 pro fights. When he’s under fire he extends his elbows and hands and looks away. I’m sure Reynosa has been doing countless drills in moving his head and hips and also bringing his guard back To protect his head.

He can fight his ass off but he doesn’t have the elite defensive skills, and more importantly, the footwork.

Someone like a Haney or Tank will make it clear on how to expose these flaws. Tank more so than Haney. Tanks only challenge in the fight would be the size and to be honest..that may make it harder for Ryan due to having a smaller target all night.
