Yes we all know they are brothers, but both of their careers were in boxing.

Everyone understands the dangers on the sport, yet it is a decision they both decided to enter.

So with that being said, how come we didn't get that fight?

I don't expect any person to seriously fight their brother.

If you have never boxed seriously and don't have a sibling then you can't relate.

It is not fun and it is not just a boxing match when you step inside. I could never switch into that gear on my own brother, which is why at most the only thing we ever would do is light sparring. Just can't bring myself to throw with bad intentions.

I agree with the sentiments stating special rules should not have been made for them regarding mandatories, etc. However, I respect and admire their decision to never fight each other. I for one, would not have tuned in. A professional, heavyweight boxing match is not a brotherly scrap. People can and do die from pro fights. Watching brothers fight for money would make me feel kind of sick. Finally, is it a fight we needed to see? Did we really need to see Vitali smash his little brother? We all know how it would have gone...

My father used to force me to box my older (1 year) step-brother when we would argue. I’m sure he thought this was some old school manly parenting, but it wasn’t. It was just ****** and sadistic. We didn’t have gloves, so we fought with a couple of pairs of socks wrapped around our hands - which always came loose so it was basically bare knuckle. I almost always lost and we always bloodied each other’s faces before he would stop it. We never hugged afterward and never felt respect for each other. Instead it caused more anger and bitterness, something that carried on into our teen years. I want my own boys to enjoy athletic competition, but not against each other. Brothers should never fight.
