    British boxing coaches are terrible.

The last 2 months have shown how terrible British boxing trainers are.

Luke Campbell went into the fight with his right guard too high and his whole body exposed to body shot from a guy with cement feet that fights with his chin up in the air and zero defence. He was just lucky Ryan Garcia isn't a good boxer else he would've been knocked out by the same liver shot in the 1st rd if Garcia knew what he's doing. When you have the footwork & footspeed advantage, you don't need a high guy. All you need to do is move in & out.

Callum Smith had ridiculous height/reach advantage against Canelo yet couldn't use it & spent the whole night trying to survive.

Yarde and Dubois got beat up by left jab & didn't know what to do to negate it.

    SMH. They all suck.

Shane McGuigan is probably one of the better ones.

But you're right in general the standard of British trainers is poor. Even UK fighters have admitted that. I'm amazed more of them don't go abroad to train but boxing is a sport where home comforts are very important to a fighter.

Other than Fury and Joshua to an extent, UK fighters and their style and coaches are completely outdated. They’ll make a change eventually but damn it’ll be a minute before it happens.

Nah you can defend your head without leaving your body exposed like that. Rookie mistake from Campbell, he's an Olympic Gold Medallist which says a lot about what that actually means in the modern era.

Usually after a Brit gets a beating they adapt slowly. Or typically rip off what they've seen in the States, usually badly.

I remember years ago Hatton's camp ridiculed Mayweather's pad work and then after he got schooled they hired Mayweather Snr to try and learn it.

I don't include Joshua in that at all. He has all the requisites of a pedestrian European boxer. Its only recently he's started employing more "continental" moves. I would actually put Joyce on there. I think his training in california and experience boxing in America during his early professional career is going to pay dividends. As a brit myself, I think British boxing as a whole is ****ing awful. Fury as much of a twat as he is, is an anomaly. When you think about it, his boxing is pretty beautiful. Constant feinting, footwork and head movement. People spend too much time thinking about the Wallin performance when his fights against Schwarz and Wilder were a ****ing masterclass in stylistic excellence of two pretty damp disparate styles too.

His elbows weren't adequately tucked if that's the case.
