    The first U.S. televised main event of 2021 comes with a healthy mix of experienced ring officials and at least one name which will always trigger a weird reaction within the boxing industry. Veteran referee Laurence Cole has been appointed as the third man in the ring for Saturday's interim lightweight title fight between Ryan Garcia and Luke Campbell. The scheduled 12-round bout will air live on DAZN from American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, making the locally-based Cole a logical pick from a geographical standpoint.

                          I think Cole has been about to lose the TX privileges his Daddy set up for. Thats what he is skating thin ice and acting like it too. He still slobs in my book doe.

                              Fooking Cole. LOL this fooking guy steady getting the bigger fights in TX. Boxing would be better if you couldn't fail your way to success so easily.

                              That said I do like the UK judge + a neutral judge. That should be the standard more often in any & every notable fight.

                                  So the American judge is described as neutral because he's from Connecticut? If the UK judge was from London I get the feeling the word neutral wouldn't be used, it would just be 'he a Brit, Luke a Brit, same'

                                  Laurence Cole is a corrupt ref who has helped GBP in the past. No way he should be involved

                                      Might as well just have no referee as have Cole. I don’t even think he’s corrupt, I think he’s just incompetent.
