PS: I do agree with you Shane, definitely the best current division in boxing and it has been for at least a couple of years. Ioka, Estrada, Chocolatito, Rungvisai, Nietes, Ancajas - who's talented althought disappointed us all with the way he's managing his career, Franco, Tanaka, Moloney past their prime Arroyo & Cuadras, even Cintron and Israel Gonzalez are very solid fighters. You can't f#ck with that list!

In those interviews they were admitting he needed to improve his defense before fighting Chocolatito. The last thing I heard from them was that Inoue outgrew 115.
this is fact, below is what's in the news.
in 2015, inoue announced, he wanted to fight gonazales.
ohashi (his mngr) announced that they were discussing bout between gonzales and inoue in early 2016. they hoped gonzales would agree, and it could happen by then.
in addition, inoue called out gonzales several times during that period. saying that he wanted to fight the undefeated, p4p #1 gonzales to prove his own skills.
but what happened from 2015-2017?
gonzales did not respond. instead he fought 4-5 other guys from viloria, arroyo, cuadras, SSR, etc.
inoue made a statement saying he wanted to fight gonzales, but he was going to fight one more time at superly then move up to bantam.
And in 2017, gonzales opted to fight SSR. we all know he lost.
inoue made a statement after gonzales’ loss. he said he has lost motivation to fight a defeated gonzales, and will move up to bantam.
inoue saying he's not ready, i remember that as well. but it was sometime around 2013-14. i know it was before narvaez.

that fight was razor thin close.
imo, ioka had more effective punches. ring mag scored ioka over nietes, so did i.
it could have gone either way, and they are both technical wizards.
