Haney's assessment of Campbell and his place among the elite in the division is probably the most succinct and accurate I've seen. I'm pulling for Luke and always enjoyed watching him fight but I think there's a reason why he was selected for Garcia at this point.

Loma was the champ, Lopez beat him, Haney was gifted his belt because the WBC is handing out meaningless belts. Haney is getting pimped by the WBC to hold a belt he never earned. That may sit right with you but I don't view Haney as a champ. He is basically the WBCs version of the WBA "regular" champ. A meaningless trinket is what Haney holds so the WBC takes a piece of the pie every time he fights.

of course he's content, hes making huge money fighting bums. why wouldnt he be? why do you think he signed with dazn instead of top rank? he took the sure money and path to stardom which didnt consist of fighting anyone good, but consisted of running his mouth about how he deserves fights, then making sure dazn doesnt actually send any offers to thee guys he wants to fight. what happened did they go broke as soon as haney signed? dont think so. he's the hold me back! guy who doesnt really want to fight. right now dazn is holding him back and he likes it that way. if he really wanted the fights he would make sure dazn sent some offers out, you know dazn wants to have stars like loma, lopez, and tank on their platform yet nothing...in the past they have tried to make tevin farmer vs tank yet this time...nothing. they are both mutually happy fighting bums because haney rakes in cash and runs his mouth and dazn builds a star.

Prior to Lopez beating Loma, did he have to “earn” his shot or did he get a “chance” to fight for the undisputed championship?
Teofimo’s fights before a “chance” at Loma were Nakatani and then Commey. I assume you that’s how he “earned” his shot because he beat very credible guys?

These guys want to fight and they get knocked down by people like you. Who else is there to fight in that division between those four guys other than each other?

Dude Nakatani and Commey are truly legit opponents and the type of opponents who if you beat them it earns you a shot at the titles.

Guess what, Nakatani and Commey are head and shoulders above anything Haney has ever come close to fighting. And now that Lopez has Loma’s scalp, Haney’s opponent level is kiddie pool stuff compared to what Lopez has.

Haney should have fought Fortuna instead of Gamboa in the first place. Devin hasnt been moved well and while he may be a better name and in terms of meaningless trinkets a beltholder, let them tell it Kamboses has all of Australia on lock and big fan based..whatever.
