Lightweight titlist Devin Haney is outlining his holiday wishlist, and it's headlined by a pair of potential mouthwatering fights for 2021. "My next [fight] will be Teofimo Lopez because that would be for all the belts of course and I would want to be undisputed champion of the lightweight division, and then I would say Gervonta Davis," Haney told the "Last Stand Podcast" with Brian Custer.

It isn't a unification fight. It's Haney challenging Lopez for the world title. Let's get that straight. But I expect Haney will take easier fights instead.

Lopez vs. Haney is the fight to make! The problem is not Devin and Teofimo! The problem is Arum & Hearn! Really more Arum than Hearn!

I’ve ridden Haney for his competition. But he’s actually opened my eyes up a little bit their. Guys would be begging for him, and he does look dominant in fights, but if he’s such a big payday, guys WOULD of come for him. Truth is, he’s NOT a draw.

He’s one of most talented though. He’s just yet to have the opponent to prove it. But not to worry, because the Garcia-Campbell winner, and Fortuna can give him really credible names to beat.

I honestly think devin should do HIS own thing, ie, fight winner of saturdays fight, in a fight which will get Attention, and if he can beat them in a really conclusive or exciting way, people like Lopez will HAVE to fight Haney, if Teo is still at 135.

that’s the way it should be, but it isn’t thanks to the garbage ass wbc creating fake titles to appease diva champions who don’t want to face mandatories.

Hi, Nope you're wrong (not a Haney fan boy and not dismissing Lopez's achievement) but his belt is the one you always needed. If Haney beat Lopez he may or may not get the franchise belt but Lopez would get his. The WBC could leave the franchise belt with Lopez even if Haney beat him, it's really messed up. Loma should have fought Haney.

Also looking at the official WBC info Lopez doesn't qualify as he had to be WBC champion first to get the franchise, looks like Teo should have been WBC champ first to be elevated ..

              For info ...

If somebody defeats the fanchise champion, does he become the franchise champion?

No. According to the WBC, "the franchise champion is a special designation and status which the WBC may bestow to a current WBC world champion, who is also an elite boxer and who has achieved and maintains the highest of statures in the sport. ... The WBC may, upon a two-thirds vote of the board of governors, designate in each weight category one WBC franchise champion. A franchise champion shall enjoy special status with respect to his or her mandatory obligations, holding multiple titles and competing for titles of other organizations, as the WBC board of governors rules on a case-by-case basis."

Why what? Why should they bother to fight him?

I'd love a true undisputed fight at some weight next year. Yes yes Lopez should already be undisputed but you can thank Morris Silly man for that FKK up.

And I presume we are guna get a load of "who has Haney fought? Haney needs to prove himself" well hopefully next year he will of fought Lopez and Tank Davis which is surely the level of opposition that is being demanded.

Or will we see some new roadblocks appear like Haney needs to do the floss on the moon to earn his shot and if he doesn't do the floss on the moon it just proves he is another Eddie Hearn hype job ducker.

Hearn said he'd offer 10M and then seemed to backtrack straight away. Can't see Arum letting the fight happen in the short term unless he gets a big offer like that

IF Garcia beats Campbell then faces Haney that's great for the division whoever wins.
