Bob was winding up the situation knowing that Pulev never had the tools to beat a young fresh Joshua but knows after the dismantling by Ruiz that Joshua can go pop at any time. Hence very fast Eddie's race to bank two Fury fights.
Yeah, you're right. Pulev, 39 and unranked until he became Joshua's mandatory, who hasn't had a good win in almost five years (And that win was Chisora) and who almost got stopped by Bogdan Dinu last year...
Joshua is P4P #1 and the GOAT heavyweight. My mistake.
What a marvellous straw man argument. The question was why does nobody want to give him any credit for the win, not why does no one think he is on a P4P list or an all-time HW great.
Yes, Pulev is 39 and has had a long career. And over the course of that long career he has been stopped by how many fighters?
Going into the fight, very few expected Pulev to do anything but lose (though Arum would not give Aj respect before the fight by acknowledging this) and an element of the narrative was all about how Joshua ran against Ruiz and questioning whether we would now on see a new, cautious version of Joshua. He basically destroyed Pulev in the third round and the ref could -- as Eddie said -- stopped it right there and then. He didn't and instead we got a highlight reel KO in the 9th instead.
Pulev isn't great but he isn't bad either. If it's so easy to knock him out, why didn't more fighters do it over the last 10 years?
So, yeah, no one should be doing cartwheels over it or seriously re-evaluating what they think of Joshua from the fight, but there is a measure of credit that he deserves for getting Pulev out of there and landing all those uppercuts.
He got all the credit he deserved for fighting bum Pulev in a fight no one cares about. He will get the same credit for the Usuck mis-match garbage. Fight Fury, Wilder or Ruiz those are real championship fights.

How much credit did Wlad get for beating him in 2014?
2 time unified champion and major cash cow of the sport Anthony Joshua certainly draws alot of salty jealousy which really makes the haters look pathetic.
But Arum is just a dirty old fudger, hates on anything he deems a threat to his business, especially anything connected to Eddie Hearn and his shining star. Arum is no better than the LBDC sweaty racists themselves.
They will do what ever they can to try to damage the worth or reputation of fighters like Joshua, clearly it isn't working, it's just salt.
Arum and Hearn have this childish beef going on so yes, Arum will be reluctant to hype Hearns fighter unless it benefits him in some way. Joshuas performance was good but it was against a past prime boxer.
Boxers have their haters. The more famous you are, the more haters you get. Joshua haters won't give him credit until he knocks out Fury and even if he does that some still won't. It is what it is.
