Comments Thread For: De La Hoya on Tyson-Jones, Jake Paul: It's Entertainment, It's Creating Attention For Boxing

Former six division champion, and CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, Oscar De La Hoya, has no problem with the recent surge of exhibition fights. Last month on pay-per-view, from Staples Center in Los Angeles, two of the most talked about boxing fights of 2020 took place.

No, it’s not creating attention for “boxing”. It’s creating attention for Jake Paul.

This idiot was so critical of Mayweather fighting Connor and then tried to fight Connor himself.
He said Floyd was ruining boxing and now he says it’s great for boxing.

Oscar is as big a hypocrite and a liar as Bob Arum or Don King!

Despite the old saying, not all publicity is good publicity. Oscar should know that from experience.

Typical garbage from Oscar. He was so against Mayweather - McGregor, which was between two actual fighters, but like some other morons is all for watching youtube wankstains pretending to fight. The general public who buy this **** are so gullible. Like the old saying goes, "there's a sucker born every minute."

I doubt any of this rubs off positively on boxing in a significant way. Maybe if Tyson had fought an active boxer or if the Tyson-RJJ fight had co-headlined with a proper fight it might have introduced a current boxer to the wider public. But three retired fighters and a you tuber all on PPV? It doesn't really inject any new lifeblood into the sport of boxing, sadly.

This crybaby Oscar Dela Hater put out a letter to fans asking them not to support Mayweather vs Mcgregor telling them it was a disgrace to the sport. 2 yrs after he tried to make a fight with Canelo and Mcgregor. Pacquioa said the same also but now he wants a Mcgregor fight too. Straight up hypocrites.
