It's definitely not a good fight, but he is expected to fight in may against a legit opponent.
Yildirim is an easy quick turnaround fight in his hometown. Nothing more, nothing less.

If nothing else I appreciate that they're not hanging around to get this trash fight out of the way. I can't blame Canelo because I doubt this is what he actually wants, but it's just another reminder of how goddamn bad the WBC is. The only possible reason for this fight is blatant corruption, this is a mandatory challenge that's obviously been bought, because it'd be farcical to suggest that it's been earned. Yildirim doesn't even really belong on the world stage, let alone in a fight against one of the world's best fighters.

I think the people in here that want him to fight a major name are ignoring the quick turnaround he's looking for and the fact he wants it in his birthplace. He would not be able to make the fights with the guys you guys want to see in such a short timeframe.
