Different promotions, so it wouldnt be on the same card. But both fights work overall.


Winners fight each other for undisputed in September

Canelo is a free agent. BJS is with Hearn but maybe he'd let him do a Canelo PPV. After all DAZN did try PPV for the Callum Smith fight.

But it's probably all just a pipe dream, I realize that.

Yeah, but even more people would buy if Plant vs Benavidez was on the undercard. And you'd be giving fans better value for money.

Plus it sets up perfectly for Plant and Benavidez to get more known.
That way when the winner fights Canelo people will be familiar with him.

Plant vs. Benavidez is a fight between two stars who would prefer to headline their own show as they should be.

That's too big of a fight to be on any undercard. Doesn't make financial sense for the fighters, promoters, nor does it raise their own marketability individually regardless of the fact that the winner fights Canelo.

Also Canelo is working with Matchroom and DAZN, while Plant and Benavidez are both on PBC, so it would only work if Canelo went to PBC for that specific card. Also not gonna happen since Saunders is with Eddie, so that will definitely be a DAZN card. No way would Plant and Benavidez fight on a DAZN undercard...

Basically what I'm saying is, not gonna happen.

Only unknown bums like Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. can be staging championship fights on undercards at his peak - legends and superstars like Plant and Benavidez need the red carpet rolled out and a stage of their own.
