The fact that Canelo dominated a guy who could easily knock every single critic on this forum into a deep coma within 10 seconds, helps to put it into perspective what level Canelo is really on.
As for Benavidez, u can say he's a druggie, overweight, a bum, etc, but best believe he's way, way better than Callum Smith.

I think he's right. To me Smith looked like he was beaten mentally before the fight even began. Was intimidated by Canelo's reputation. Having said that sometimes it's easy to think "he should do this or that" but it's easier said than done. Also I have to say a lot of people probably expected more from Benavidez when he was champ such as making weight and not doing drugs.

Very well said. You’re absolutely right about that. Benavidez let his fans down with his irresponsible actions. As a champion, a fighter has his responsibilities, and that includes staying clean and making weight.

The point of boxing is to hit the other Mfo in the head & body. If you have abundant stamina & strength then hitting them on the biceps til they're worn down is a reasonable idea. Rocky Marciano did it, but Rocky had stamina that was flat-out inhuman. Most boxers, IMO would be better off concentrating on throwing fewer punches to more vulnerable areas. Don't recall Tommy Hearns hitting too many Mfos on their biceps!

Smith was a champion and has massive size advantage therefore strategy should have been clear to him.

Smith was massively overestimated.

Smith had almost certainly been training with an Alvarez fight in mind for most of the year (at least).

Smith didn't seem to have a clue what to do and was reluctant yo try just "fighting"!

Gallagher was also shown to be just as hapless though.
