Good questions.
We know that Bob Arum can make super fights. Is he a greedy old jerk, yes, but can he make super fights, yes. We just had one, Wilder vs. Fury. Why can't he do it again?
Bob and Al get along just fine. They get along way better than Bob and Don King ever did, but that didn't stop those 2 from making super fights all the time.
At the end of the day, we have no idea who is throwing out how much $$, what offers are going on, who is willing to negotiate. All of this is just speculation.
But, here are the FACTS of what we do know, what we do know is that Bud has been demanding spence for years, even though he was at 140. Spence said get a belt at 147. and then we can talk. But got a belt at 147 and asked to fight Spence again. Spence moved the goalpost and publicly said you're on the wrong side of the street. WTF. Who makes that excuse? Deontay Wilder crossed the street, didn't he?
Then Bud shows up at Spence's last fight - would you do that if you're not interested in a fight with him? Spence doesn't even let Bud in the ring. Instead, he goes to Canelo's fight. Which is interesting cuz he said you can't cross the street, but he was fine going on DAZN. But not espn?
Look, I'm a big big fan of Errol Spence. This should be the fight of the century, these are the 2 best pound for pound fighters in boxing that can fight each other. This should be the super fight of all super fights, but it's not happening. I think it's a 50 50 fight. BUT. Based off of all that stuff I just mentioned, it's pretty obvious that Bud isn't the one who is afraid to take the fight and lose his 0. I just don't see how anyone can say else.
Point is, if you're a fan of American boxing like me, this is our super bowl. We should all be demanding this fight.
