Let Berlanga fight for a vacant title.

I have a bias for all fighters that train in Kronk's Gym in Detroit! Shiskin is 29, 11-0 w/ 7 KOs.
Shishkin has some very good wins on his record, Ulises Sierra 15-0-2, DeAndre Ware 13-12-1, Nadjid Mohammdi 40-6, at the time of their bout's. If you look back to some of my earlier post's, you'll find a list of fighters Berlanga should face, and you'll find Shishkin on name on it. Berlanga had an amateur career before he turned professional, so it's not like he needs to be brought along slowly. Would I like to see him set a knew !st round KO record, yes but only one of those 1st round KO leader's ever one a world title. He will be remembered as much for killing his wife, mother-In-law, and committing suicide, as for his boxing accomplishments. That said it's more important that he be ready to win a title, and defend it for several defense's. If they want to really set a record, they can go for setting the most defense's of the 168, or 175 pounds division. Now that's a record to go after, and be proud of, if you make it.

Berlanga will get there, and AJ was a gold medalist so opportunities presented themselves sooner.

The first round KO record would be a mute point, if he never becomes a champion of the boxing world. 2021 has to be his breakout year in order to keep, and gain more boxing fans. Berlanga fights out of the the Andre Rozier training camp, which has Sergi Devrenchenko, Ievgen khyrov, and other renown Ukrainian boxers. Edgar spars with these, and other boxers on a regular basis. Their is no reason to hold him back any longer from other rated fighters in the top 20, then 15, and ultimately 10, of the 168 pounds division. In 2022-2023 he'll probably be moving up to the 175 pounds class. So if he's going to challenge for a 168 pound title, it has to be in late 2021, or early 2022. He's got to get the needed rounds, experience, chin checked, heart checked, and stamina checked, all before fighting for a title.
I’m sure he will step it up this year now that he’s generated a buzz.

I believe that he's going to step up, but is it going to be enough of a step up to get him the rounds that he needs.

Bad troll attempt. Berlanga needs to fight Gabe Rosado. He's resume is full of farmers and firefighters

Well I know Berlanga has called out Gabe Rosado and that would be a great test.

I believe that Berlanga won't only stop Rosado he might even hurt him, and possibly end his career. Rosado might make out of the first round, but his face is going to suffer the consequences. His scar tissue will will be torn apart, the longer the fight last the worse for Rosado. He's been stopped 4 times, Alfredo Angulo was the only one to stop him early in the 2nd round. The other three stoppages were on cuts to GGG in 7, Lemieux in 10, Quillen in 10. When Berlanga stops Rosado, he's going to be looking for Daniel Jacobs right after that. I can also see Berlanga knocking him out. and then the title fight will probably next.

That would be extremely impressive since Rosado just lost a narrow decision to a former world champion in Daniel Jacobs. Berlanga has shown that he can blast people out but I think Rosado would force him to show different dimensions at the very least.
