The operative word is former champion, Daniel Jacobs hasn't looked impressive in his most recent fights. Rosado doesn't pack the mind numbing punch that Berlanga does. I'm all for Rosado forcing Berlanga to show different dimensions at the very least. What I said in my initial post was, that Rosado might extend Berlanga past the first round. Moreover I said that the longer that fight lasts if it's made, the worse of a beating Rosado will endure. His facial scar tissue will come apart from Berlanga's damaging blows. Which is unfortunate because Rosado is a good fighter, who's gotten the raw end of decisions in more than one fight. I have the world of respect for Gabriel Rosado, and hope that this fight isn't made for his own sake. It looks like Berlanga's team has already zeroed in on Rosado, because they know he's durable, but also because of hoe well he did against Daniel Jacobs. They'll gage their performance against rosado, against Jacobs performance against Rosado. Then more than likely they'll be going after the Daniel Jacobs fight. They'll try to knockout Jacobs, to make the statement that he did better against Jacobs, than GGG, Canelo, and Derevyanchenko, had in their fights. It will all start with the Rosado fight, let's see how that prediction plays out. This isn't written in stone, and anything can happen along the way. Yet this is the way I believe that Barlanga's team has it planned out.

Would be funny as hell if Berlanga fights a top 20 guy and knocks him out in the 1st.

More likely outcome is that he misses a lot with those big swings, and then gets countered and punished in the 2nd round. That's when the shit becomes real and we see if he has a backup plan, a solid chin, and enough gas in the tank to beat former champions, title challengers, and other high level fighters.

While it's true that Jacobs hasn't looked impressive recently, both Jacobs and Rosado are way better than anyone Berlanga has faced up to this point. That's not a slight towards Berlanga either because his career is just beginning.

With that said, I'm curious to see how he does against a seasoned fighter like Rosado. It's one thing to land those bombs against overmatched opposition but if he is able to set up those bombs against Rosado then I will be truly impressed.

Either way I'm hoping to see the fight because I wanna see how Berlanga responds to resistance.

I'm interested in seeing how he reacts to resistance as well. That said as much punishment as Rosado has withstood in his career, this is probably going to be the worst. There is a good chance that Rosado will make it past the first. If he does there won't be any rush for Berlanga to get a quick KO, because setting the 1st round KO streak record will be over. Berlanga isn't a wild, or wasteful puncher, he's pretty accurate with his punches. The record out of reach, if Rosado makes it past round, will cause Berlanga to relax, box more, set traps, and pick Rosado apart. I believe the longer the fight last, Rosado will be the worse for ware, and tear. As tough as Rosado is, he won't be able to absorb the type of punishment that Berlanga can dish out. I do want to see him go past the first round to see all of his skill set's on display. I think that many will be surprised to see just how good he possibly is when challenged. June 2021 is only six months away, and that's when he's supposed to have his step up fight. That will possibly be against Gabriel Rosado, so hang tight we won't have much of a wait. He 's scheduled to have another fight in March before that, which should bring him to 17-0 (17 KO's).

We need Berlanga vs Munguia, what an action fight it would be!

These are my million dollar questions for Berlanga:

              1. Can he box and set traps against someone who is capable of doing the same to him?

              And

              2. Can he take, or better yet defend against punches from tougher opposition?

We will find out soon as you said and I'm looking forward to it.

Just like you, I can't wait to see those questions answered myself. There are so many speculation's about what Berlanga, hasn't proven yet. Berlanga has fought progressively better opposition, as he continues to build on his boxing career. He has just knocked out an opponent who has sparred with current, and former world champions. He had never been knocked out before his fight with Berlanga, and just gone the 10 round distance in a losing effort, against another promising undefeated Russian prospect. You can't hold it against him if the decent opposition he's fighting can't get out of the first round. There are some that are even, calling his fights set ups, and that he has fake punching power. How do they come up with these crazy ideas? They have to be trolls with an agenda to disparage this young, and up coming fighter. I hope that he's wise enough to not let them get under his skin. As long as he stays focused, disciplined, hungry, and away from the night life, and hangers on, he can prove his detractors wrong. Many want to see him fight Rosado, well his promoter is trying to make the Rosado fight for June 2021. What are the skeptical boxing fans going to say, if he passes that test with flying color's? I think he's going to shine like a supernova on that night. If he wins that fight there's no going back, It'll be a Daniel Jacob fight within his next two fights. Then it'll be on to a title fight, within his next two fights. Providing that he keeps on winning, and doesn't suffer a defeat along the way. I believe that he cannot only beat, Rosado, and Jaccobs, but that he can knock them both out. By then he'll have gone some rounds, and will be ready to challenge for, and win the 168 pound title. If it works out that way, there'll be an uproar in New York City, and Puerto Rico, like there hasn't been since the glory days of Benitez, Gomez, Trinidad, and Cotto, maybe even bigger.

The idea that Berlanga's fights are fixed is absolutely ridiculous. If that was the case then his opponents could just go down after the first hard punch he lands. There would be no need to take punishment for a full round.

I'm all for it a Berlanga versus Munguia fight would be a great fight between power puncher's. It would also be a continuation of the Puerto Rican against the Mexican boxing rivalry. Which has proven to be explosive throughout boxings recorded history.
