Say what you want about ward but as stubborn as he was he always mad sure he got PAID. He may not have been a mega star but he milked the **** out of HBO and roc nation. He didnt bend or break for anyone during negotiations.

I'm sure that has to do with the split, ward seems to rub most people the wrong way. He holds very strong opinions and he isnt afraid to share them

Hear HIS WORDS not some BS that fans are making up

Nothing serious, just Conflict Of Interest with Ward working for ESPN and ESPN would make him step away from calling Shakur fights because of that Connection. Now by at least "PUBLICALLY" Announcing their split he is able to work his fights without obvious Bias I guess

That's not what he said. I watched that a couple days ago and he was evasive. He said go ask Ward he gotta answer that. The conflict of interest makes no sense because all he has to do is disclose it at the start of the broadcast. Hopkins did plenty of Golden Boy fights on HBO and there wasn't a problem because he disclosed his relationship with them

You get bigger by fighting top comp. Shakur is fighting nobodies.

The idiot chose Top Rank and Ward instead of Mayweather after Mayweather went all out for him.

Look how big Tank is and he aint even fight a 50/50 fight yet, imagine how big Shakur would be if he signed to Mayweather promotions.

I would attribute Ward’s financial success to J Prince more so. This is the same guy who started getting Mayweather huge paydays.

Going by what Ward said on ESPN basically

Just posted the Video so people can hear from Shakur directly what he had to say about it. ESPN would have Ward step away from calling Shakur fights they did it a few times

Shakur has fought twice this year. His reported purses were around 700k. Ward's 10% cut would be $70k. So he's giving up that money rather than not call 2 fights a year? He can make more money on one Shakur fight (a big fight) than he can in a year broadcasting for ESPN. And if he & Shakur have the relationship they both used to claim to have then it's more than money to Ward. More than his broadcasting money & Shakur money. The whole logic of the situation doesn't add up because it's only two fights, maybe 3, the whole year. And it's not even the whole broadcast just the one Shakur fight on the broadcast

He didn't get Mayweather big paydays that's why he left. Floyd owed J Prince when he left him.
