He didn't struggle against any of them. Just lies by the boxing media that those fights were close since they were so desperate for someone to beat Floyd. You see guys take or or 2 rounds from Floyd and thats considered "struggle"Comment

I am a big Floyd fan.
Floyd absolutely struggled vs Castillo, DLH, Maidana, and Cotto.
Each round he won vs Cotto were hard earned round.
The Maidana fight was a tooth and nail fight which I was nervous about when the scores were being read.
The DLH fight was also close and competitive.
Everyone knows the first Castillo fight was a huge struggle for Floyd.
You are in denial but you're probably some troll who is trying to make specific fanbases look bad. You are attempting to draw hate towards certain fighters by saying outlandish and controversial things about them and targeting specific boxers to hate on. I see what you are doing. Real Mayweather fans know that while he was the best of his generation, he was in competitive fights unlike what his many critics say, that he never fought any tough opponents.Comment

Those weren't controversial decisions that could have gone either way. HE clearly beat Cotto and DLH, and gave the other 2 the rematch and dominated in the second fight.I am a big Floyd fan.

And you're the only one who is trolling. My argument is that why do we give guys more credit for a controversial win over a better opponent than a dominating win over a not as good one? Example - how come you give Andrade zero credit for his dominating win over Sulecki, but Canelo has this monster resume cuz he allegedly won a fight with Lara that many think he lost??Comment

Doesn't matter if the right man won, that is not the point.
The point is he struggled.
Yes, he beat Cotto and DLH, but he struggled.
You can't say he didn't struggle because everyone can see those fights, everyone has eyes. They can see Floyd struggling.
Mayweather himself called Cotto one of the toughest opponents in his whole career.
Performances in rematches don't eliminate the struggle from the first fight.Comment

This isn't about Floyd though, this is about Demetrius Andrade's resume. You criticize Andrade's resume, but it's not like there are all these other guys out there who have legit dominating wins over p4p guys. Andrade's dominated second tier guys which is as good as anyone really. Thats not trolling, that's fact. Canelo dominated guys like Liam Smith, Callum Smith, Kirkland. That's no more impressive than Andrade's dominating wins.Doesn't matter if the right man won, that is not the point.

It means you have a dominating win against a legit top tier guy. Which is more than anyone in the sport of boxing today can say, but instead people choose to only criticize people like Andrade and Bud.Comment

Oh ok. Then we’re both on the same page then. As long as we are grading fairly across the board then I agree with your statement. Now I know where you stand. Merry Christmas.Comment

People have to hand it to Top Rank matchmakers. Crawford’s P4P status is based on some amazing matchmaking. He has some respectable names in there, Postol, Beltran, Gamboa, Burns but his resume falls apart after those names. His rise through the P4P ranks have been due to looking really good against mediocre opponents.
I think when Gamboa hurt him, TR tried to be careful with his matchmaking since he had a massive weight advantage on Gamboa on fight night and still got hurt pretty badly. An unknown Kavaliaskas also hurt him badly.
His top names above 140 have been Khan, Brook and Horn. Three fighters who aren’t regarded among the best at the time. Khan and Brook had their time when they were good but Crawford got them when they were no longer ranked among the best.
Kudos to Top Rank. They lost a lot of money on that guy and helped him make a name for himself with no profit. Must be frustrating. It’s funny now he thinks some type of top draw asking for money he can’t generate.Comment
