Why do we shame boxers for not staying outside of their weight class?

Tommy Hearns jumped from MW to LHW to bash up Dennis Andries for a strap. Don't recall anyone moaning about him picking a weak champion. He went back down in weight after that as well.

Give him credit for making the move but let's be honest with day before weigh-ins and rehydration fighters can move up in weight much more easily than in the past because a lot of them are already fighting 1 weight class above where they should be.

Can we really call them re-hydration clauses.
Shouldn't we at least be honest and call them what they are de-hydration clauses.

I will tel you that. If there are e.g. only 5 or 7 weight classes and weight differences proportionally big enough, such Canelos wouldn't dare to go higher as there would wait much bigger and stronger guys there, not mentioning the crowd of great fighters in each division would be huge.
Now we have multiple number of classes (that differs minimally one from the others) and multiple number of weak champions and weak pretendents.

He was a middleweight champion who fought whatever middleweights would fight him, which is what he was supposed to do.
