You said one marvelous thing that really stands out....the fact that the true boxing fan is disappearing. What you have now is ethnic/racial/nationalist fans who only care about flags, national origin, or race pride. It’s kinda obvious. What’s even worse is they try and paint others into that category as a means of defending or deflecting from their bias or lack of general boxing knowledge.

Any vibrantly-supported sport would have the majority of its fans fail a test on knowledge going back well over 100 years. Boxing desperately needs lots of fans, lots of new fans and -- yes -- these will inevitably be unknowledgable fans. Just like the hundreds of thousands of new, unknowledgable fans that baseball, basketball and football will gain each year and that keep those sports strong.

Anyone passing a test on Jack Johnson or Jess Willard or Georges Carpentier will inevitably have seen next to no footage of them actually boxing, so it's not the most informative knowledge to have.

He's the idiot! When it came time for him to become an unrestricted promotional and network free agent he should have jumped at the opportunity to fight Spence by having him and his lawyers field offers from the PBC for a potential fight with Erroll Spence.

However, like a fool he decided to sign a long term exclusive contract with ESPN and Top Rank. He knew damn well that Top Rank's stable was very sparse when it came to welterweight contenders and titleholders. He and his manager chose to stay with them rather than go to where the real action was which is the PBC.

If we learnt anything from the Joshua Wilder cr*p, you need both sides to sit in a room together with no preconditions. That may not get the fight done but gets you a chance. It;s much easier to get concessions when there is a guaranteed fight at the end of it.

Managers and promoters that won't take meetings without preconditions get lost that's your job "but it's wasting my time" .. that's your job earn your wage, you can waste fighters time not promoters and managers.
