At this stage, if Canelo does eventually take the 3rd fight when GGG is nearly 40 years old, he won't get the credit he could have earned by taking an immediate trilogy (If Canelo happens to win convincingly by beating an old man, hence, take the fight ASAP or lose any credibility).
Jesus Christ. Takes gokovkins **** out of your throat. Mostly everybody agrees that golovkin got pummeled in the rematch. That's why he's never looked the same since that fight. Canelo ruined that man. Only golovkin **** riders think he won that rematch. Supposed to be the Terminator but you fought like Paulie malignaggi. Canelo had this dude terrified to sit down on his punches

I’ll let max kellerman break it down for yall. Biggest hypejob of the past 20 years.

Ggg will go down as a guy who couldn’t land the big fights and when he did, couldn’t get an official win. As it relates to their feud, Canelo will be known as the one who got very favorable scoring from judges and while in his prime, could never convincingly beat a 35/36 year old Ggg without controversy.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s like some of these guys just want a fighter they can get behind and brag about as the best while putting down every other fighter to make their guy look good/better.

if you think canelo won the rematch, that’s fine , but to pretend he dominated in some way is laughable. Btw, Daniel Jacobs, Lennox Lewis, Paulie malignaggi, teddy atlas all had ggg winning the rematch. Not to mention if you look at the 50 press row scorecards from that fight, only 2 scored it for Canelo. So stop the fake narrative that “everyone agrees ggg got pummeled”. Have some dignity as a so called boxing fan.

Nah....GGG never looked dominant when he stepped up in class. History will question if he was great or just really good. Canelo will be known for weight jumping and winning titles and for using his lopsided loss to mayweather to propel himself to one of the highest paid prize fighters of all time. The clean win versus GGG in the rematch makes the first fight more footnote than historically significant event.

Neither one needs the other. They already fought twice, are both millionaires and there are plenty of other options for both.

Hes going to be known for cherry picking and using weight clauses and other devices in his contracts. That is going to hurt his legacy. It already is judging by the posts on this forum.

The problem with that theory is that it’s only a reflection of a *************** GGG fan who felt beating Canelo would validate GGG as an ATG. History will not discount him fighting and beating legit 168 guys and a shop worn yet still dangerous Kovalev at 175. Plus, at just 30, he has multiple years to fight in and win other significant fights.

If a third match happens, good. If it doesn’t happen, then oh well.
