Rodriguez was deemed to have won the fight with room to spare according to home viewers and the Showtime broadcast team, only to be dealt a highly questionable 12-round split decision defeat to Gaballo in their main event.

Manny Rodriguez def beat Gaballo but I am sure he could have done it in a much more dominant fashion. His willingness to simply cruise throughout the fight was ultimately detrimental. He showed his superiority whenever he decided to let his hands go, hurting Gaballo numerous times.

The only joke are computer, couch warriors like you who think they know everything and think they are taken seriously. Don't be mad at the world because you live in you're Mom's basement... Saw it differently. Rodriguez boxed beautifully IMO and Gaballo was just throwing big shots but wasn't landing much of anything. Both guys looked like they thought the fight was going according to plan and neither made changes, so the fight never shifted into another gear. "Hit and don't get hit" seems to be less and less the objective anymore the way judges have been over the years. He gave Gaballo a boxing lesson in there and by no means was that a SD. Appeals rarely change anything so hopefully they just order the rematch and give him his shot at redemption.
