But the future headline should be “Benavidez missed weight again and is accompanied by new cutman Chavez Jr.!”
Benavidez calls out the Ginger AGAIN! (make it happen)

Also, a fight ain't official until a contract is signed
.
So because a guy mentioned my name, I'm supposed to get ready to fight him, start camp, have to pay my team, and then the guys says, "No thanks...i
I am gonna fight someone else."
In response to your, "Stay ready so you never have to get ready..." comment.Comment

billy joe is a wackjob...i dont want to ask him anything lolHow am I making it seem?
He fought Callum with a month notice and he fought Kovalev with a month notice.
Don't start telling me about how if a guy mentions another fighters name that means the fighter should be prepared for the fight.
With that logic, Karim Mayfield better keep himself ready for that Floyd fight... and so should Amir Khan.
Ask Billy Joe how frustrating it is having your name mentioned and not getting the fight.
kovalev and smith both knew the fight was highly likely before they officially announced them.....and if the opposite is true then dont take the fight...but those guys are a-ok with taking that check though and giving it a go.....when will a guy say "hey you know what this isnt fair ...im turning this down"....lol...cmon man....its just doesnt really stand up to logic imo that canelo is just winging it and giving guys no real noticeComment

im not talking about setting up a full fledged camp...but some guys literally dont go to the gym unless they have fight signed..others stay in the gym and stay on weight and in shape.......there are different mentalities in the sport....there are guys like floyd and bernard...then there are others who literally go party and dont go to the gym unless the have a fight lined upAlso, a fight ain't official until a contract is signed

On the flip side, I feel that this way of making fights does expose the guys who are bullying guys that are way smaller than them by competing at a weight class 50lbs. lower than their walk around weight.
You force fighters like that to either stay in shape all year or reevaluate the weight they want to compete at.Comment

...yeah but if you do that, you open the door to it being said that you avoided a fighter.billy joe is a wackjob...i dont want to ask him anything lol

maybe....but no one has the balls to say "yeah it wasnt enough time...ill gladly fight him if he gives me enough time"....yeah i guess you run that risk but if you state your definitive reason it doesnt look all that bad imo
reality is...if you stay on weight...stay in the gym and keep yourself in good shape you only need a 4 week camp anyway....its really the guys who dont do jack sheet until they have fight lined up that this would hurt...which...is your own fault if you dont take it seriously enough or look at it as a jobComment

This post, I can actually agree with.im not talking about setting up a full fledged camp...but some guys literally dont go to the gym unless they have fight signed..others stay in the gym and stay on weight and in shape.......there are different mentalities in the sport....there are guys like floyd and bernard...then there are others who literally go party and dont go to the gym unless the have a fight lined up
Some fighters have no drive and some fighters have conveniently used the way fights are scheduled, the weigh in being the day before, and anything else to unfairly bully a guy who they shouldn't even be in the ring with.
I don't respect fighters (who aren't heavyweights) having to shed 25 or 30lbs. in a training camp because they couldn't say no to a McRib.Comment

it actually amazes me that there are high level pros in the sport who baloon up and dont stay in the gym like youd think they wouldOn the flip side, I feel that this way of making fights does expose the guys who are bullying guys that are way smaller than them by competing at a weight class 50lbs. lower than their walk around weight.

this is a job and career...and if you do it right and make money you only have to really work for 12-15 years....its hard for me to fathom there are guys who put on a ton of weight and stay out of a gym for extended periods.....i mean...i do get it...were not exactly dealing with highly educated folks with solid upbringings.....butComment
