For him to still be the same consummate pro at 38 is very impressive as well. He is what he is. If you aren't top level, you are getting KOed and will maybe win a round. If you are top level, you will give him a competitive fight most times, and probably still lose.

I like fighters who take care of their body and handle business like a pro - how can you not appreciate GGG doing that his whole career
Exactly. People who attack him tend to do so on the basis that he doesn't look as unstoppable against top class opponents as he does against everyone else.

im a big golovin hater no question...but ill say he does dispatch most of his competition

what i do question though is the level of it....there are just some divisions that lack or have lacked....like say the HW division for quite a few years......again you have guys like curtis stevens...yeah golovkin whooped him....but that guy lost to legit D level club fighters like marcos primera and jesse brinkley..was embarrassed by andre dirrell many years ago too....so i look at a win like that and say "yeah so what"....and i think when you question that you start to question most of the other guys on that resume too.....yeah its impressive to stop them all i def see that....im just not overall too impressed.....even danny jacobs i start to question...yeah danny is good...but how good is he really?

i feel like canelo gave golovkin alot of respect in the first fight as he sort of feared the legend...once he went 12 rounds he wasnt scared anymore...i dont care if golovkin was 27 when they fought the first time canelo would have just gotten better against him each time out

i dont really want to see a 3rd fight...i dont think golovkin can bring anything for canelo or win....id like to see him fight a charlo or andrade or a callum smith.....we all know that golovkin is chasing that check though....golovkin can cry all he wants about thinking he was robbed....he may have you fooled but he loves it because he can chase another check....

The trouble is you have icons like Hagler and Monzon who benefited from lower weight name talent moving up, and retiring before age 35.

At age 38 GGG is still a force. Might there me some more famous light middles or welters ( Pac ) to fight him?

i thought he looked good. I even noticed some head movement too. However i just dont think he can catch Canelo cleanly. Canelo is a way flashier puncher and i think everytime they fight it will be close. However Canelos offense will win the fight. I would like to see him with Murota in Japan, Munguia, and Maybe a catchweight with a Zurdo . He doesnt have alot of fights left. But they need to match him with punchers too. Let Charlo and Andrade , and Billy Joe all fight each other. It would be more enetertaining anyway. The only thing i can see is if the 3rd fight with Canelo gets made the higher the weight the better for GGG to me. I think Canelo at 160 was just to slick at 168 or more he may sacrifice some of his movement and defensive quickess. But i still think Canelo wins like 8 to 4 or 7 rounds to 5 everytime. GGG jab is the only think keeping him in that fight.

Yeah for a 39 year old (I think he turns 39 in a few weeks), definitely one of the most consistent fighters out there in many decades

Would love to see him fight a Munguia or Andrade or Charlo and retire after that, with legendary status.

Golovkin is and was a highly skilled fighter....almost complete in every department and his record shows and with the canelo saga he should be 2-0 up.....he didn’t lose those fights
He doesn’t have the flair or the wow factor but everything he does is on point and he is relentless and it be must absolute hell fighting him because he always close enough to to hit you...he is like a lump hammer knocking a hole through a wall bit by bit.
Those kind of fighters are the grim reapers of the boxing world.

I don’t know about that....I think golovkin won those 2 fights and I think it’s only right to see if he can turn it around against canelo....he deserves that and if canelo wins he wins but stranger things have happened and although canelo will be the slight favourite it’s not guaranteed ....canelo is younger but he has also been around along time and yiu statr to see some slippage soon.
I am curious how canelo copes tonight with the length of smith and size.

most world champions didn’t want to go near golovkin when he was 28 or 29....Sergio Martinez wouldn’t touch Him....billy joe Saunders openly admitted he would stay away.
As for canelo golovkin won those 2 fights and was unlucky in most people’s opinion....so he deserves at least to see if can turn it around.....yes canelo is slight favourite though
