He’s going to break the record for most successful Middleweight title defences of all time tonight with a huge 21.

But he did lose both times to the best of his era Canelo.

      Where do you rank him
I rank him better than Canelo since I think he beat Canelo twice in my opinion when he was in his mid 30s and Canelo was 9 years younger in his late 20s. Will Canelo ever KO 23 top 15 guys in a row as GGG did? No. Will Canelo ever defend any world title even 6 times let alone 21 times? No, will Canelo be a world champion at age 38 or even age 34? No. Both GGG and Canelo will go to the hall of fame on the 1st ballot. who is greatr is just a matter of opinion not provable fact. My opinion is GGG is better than Canelo, Clearly GGG is not in his prime at almost 39 but nobody is at that age. I rank him near the top of all the greatest middleweights in history when he was in his prime, Canelo has not done nearly as much as GGG at 160 and Canelo can do no more at 160 because he is done with that weight and won't ever fight at middleweight again He is a super middleweight from now on.

Of course he didn’t lose and so long as you keep those sentiments in your mind he will always be the best middleweight. Nothing wrong with telling yourself that. In my mind Kovalev is still undefeated. The Canelo fight didn’t happen

Doesn’t talk ****, doesn’t have a criminal history, no entourage...probably top 15 middleweight all time.

Obviously he’s no Ray Robinson or Carlos Monzon, Marvin Hagler or Bernard Hopkins...hell he’s not even a James Toney or Roy Jones but he is an awesome boxer.
Every thread on this casual packed forum is on him and how his credentials are meaningless. Cuz, u know, going 345-5 in amateur boxing is easy, Olympic medals are easy, and not losing ur first pro fight until you were 35 against the top p4p fighter by razor close/controversial fashion means nothing to casuals on boxingscene.
I do agree with a lot of what you say but he didn’t have a true testing fight until he was 34 years. There is no one on his resume that are good baring Jacob ,Canelo And the Russian ,and they were all close fights. All those opponents he beat ,Canelo and Jacob could beat too. I’m not questioning his accolades and attributes but the middleweight division in terms of competition has been dire which is no fault of his own

I don't know if he broke a real record, but yeah he is probably up there. He would be a factor vs anyone all-time at 160. He isn't an easy fight for anyone. If you beat him you would sure as hell earn it.

He beat Canelo twice when he was in his mid to late 30s and Canelo was on PEDs.

GGG is not top of all time, maybe at the top 10 which is fair.

Had he been American or Mexican, he'd have been treated as a God.

One of the best middleweights of all time when it’s all said and done but he needs to beat Andrade or Charlo to truly cement it!
