This would be a fight I would love to see. If Whyte follows thru with this I got to give him credit. Another risky fight he doesn't have to take with the Povetkin rematch on the horizon. Ortiz is getting old but still a threat. Ortiz hasn't been able to get too many big fights for whatever reason. He has turned down a few good opportunities so I can't say he has been completely avoided. This would be only his second top 10 opponent since turning pro. This is a tough one to call. Ortiz is a good boxer & has some pop. I'm not sure Whyte can avoid the big shot for 12 rounds. I have no doubt Whyte can take out Ortiz with one of those left hooks if he lands flush at the right time. Can Ortiz take big shots in the later rounds at his advancing age? I'd have to favour Whyte only because I'm still not completely sure what to think of Ortiz. He has a thin resume at the top level. Wilder is the only top 10 guy he has fought. Jennings, Scott, Kauffman, Hammer & an old Tony Thompson are all good wins but none of them are above C+ level. I hope this fight actually happens.

Ortiz is not a stay busy fight. Would be foolish of Whyte to take his eyes off Povetkin rematch.

Luis Ortiz has pulled Shyte's card.

            Let's see how Shyte responds.

Hopefully Shyte doesn't find a way to back out now.

                    1) he didn't cheat. He was accused of cheating by rivas, but that's rather convenient. He was set up with tom hauser the pbc guy having 'inside knowledge'. in his interview after the story, hauser literally praised al haymon which is bizarre stuff.
whyte passed all his vada tests so clearly wasnt cheating. ukad concluded there was evidence of 'contamination', but nothing was made beyond this.

                    2) how did he get a gift vs parker? the accidental head clash, sure thing, but that isnt a 'gift'.

at least he had the guts to step in with parker so soon after his loss to aj. likewise parker deserves a lot of credit for taking that fight right after the aj loss.

Ortiz has many options at pbc, he never fights any of them but always want that pay day before he fights any half decent fighter.
