Is It Possible Canelo Gets Screwed on the Scorecards Against Smith?

It is no secret most fans feel a certain way about Canelo due to some of the scorecards he has received in the past, but is it possible that on Saturday he is on the wrong end of the scorecards? He used to have the backing of GBP but he doesn't have that for him anymore and this will be really a Matchroom promoted card. Canelo has no deal with DAZN and can go fight elsewhere should he win. If he does, then Matchroom/DAZN loses a title at 168 and will only have BJS with a strap going forward.

Granted, if this fight is completely one sided or if Canelo stops Smith, this is a moot point. But if Smith is to legitimately win three or four rounds, can we be in store for a surprise?

Nah, just because he isn't under GBP doesn't mean he would get "Screwed"... Canelo is Canelo.

We’ve been talking about this for more than a year. If anything, now that Canelo is solo, Hearn could fluff Canelo to trust him and possibly sign to Matchroom if Canelo likes his co-promotional ways.

Hearn still had GGG, Bivol, Andrade, BJS to make fights against Canelo.

Hearn gets perked at DAZN. Hearn just provide Caneo shows and DAZN stays happy. If something like such were to happen, Canelo could look at ESPN or PBC for other shows as well. The point is to keep Canelo and make sense out of it, but it’s understood your worry

Canelo is indeed Canelo, but Pacquiao was Pacquiao and he got screwed. And of course, many feel he got screwed because he had some contract disputes with TR and his deal was going to be up soon after the Bradley fight.

I mean it goes without saying if Hearn can get Canelo to sign a deal with Matchroom that would be great. But I don't see Canelo signing with anyone, and nor should he. But that puts you at bit of a risk as you have no security. PBC wanted Canelo to sign a three fight deal and he declined that. I don't think he wants to be signed to anyone right now and pretty much fight anyone at any network. He has the star power to pull this off.

YES!!...I literally was thinking of this very same thing this morning....if it goes to 12 LOOK OUT....EDDIE HEARN and his legion of corrupt judges will be hard at work. Eddie knows the well is running dry on Canelo after this fight....I don't believe he'll be back on DAZN for a while so why not rob him and make smith a faux PPV star in the UK?

Canelo is fighting a DAZN guy on a DAZN card as a free agent.

Never has there been a time before where Canelo could receive an unfair card or two

DAZN USA is circling the toilet.

I wouldn't put it past Fast Eddie Hearn to pull some shenanigans behind the scenes so that Canelo loses, setting up a lucrative rematch with Callum Smith on DAZN.

                    It's a possibility.
