A couple years from now and I think Golovkin vs Munguia is still a mismatch. Even if it's a fun mismatch.
Munguia is top 10 in all sanctioning bodies, he's fair game. Munguia stands more of a chance against GGG than the other titlists.

That's nowhere close to being true.

I thought Munguia was being saved to be served to Canelo

I don't see Munguia being all that competitive against Canelo, Charlo or Andrade. He'll be a bit competitive against GGG because of the 14 year age difference, but I think GGG will eventually cut him down.

GBP just matched 24-year old Melikuziev against 37-year old Kovalev, so I can imagine that they'll eventually try to match Munguia against GGG.

GGG stans are quickly googling "Munguia" to prepare a defense and explain to us why this would be a good match up

When Canelo announces an opponent or is negotiating a fight, you never have to google their name. Kovalev, Saunders, Smith, they are all the top level of their divisions and everyone knows them.

GGG announces the next factory worker hes fighting and you have to google him.

Saunders, Smith are more popular than Munguia? Don't think so.

                  I wouldn't say it's an easy fight in 2021.

Now in 2018 I would have agreed wholeheartedly but Golovkin is getting up there and Munguia has youth and a chin if nothing else.

I would still favor Golovkin but Munguia is a legit opponent.

GGG has a 100 millon dollar contract with DAZN so he fights whoever DAZN wants him to fight and they want him to fight munguia next Munguia is a popular undefeated hard punching middleweight rated a top 10 middleweight contender by most ranking places. GGG get 16 million tonight and 16 million for Munguia. Two more fights after that and his deal with DAZN is done and he retires. If Canelo beats Smith his next fight will be with a mediocre Turkish boxer within 90 days to keep from being stripped of his newly won WBC 168 pound would title. That Turk is not as good as Munguia and nobody Saunders, Andrade or Plant have fought in years is as good as Munguia. Munguia is not very good but he is better than the guys many other champs are fighting.
