He got wobbled by Rocky Fielding. He got buzzed a hundred times by Ryder.

His best win is against Groves, who was 5 years past his best and coming off a serious shoulder injury. How is this guy meant to be #1 at 168, or by whom, i have no idea who's opinion that is or maybe that suits the narrative of this intelligent cherry pick (with no drug testing)

Hes no.1 because he won the WBSS

All he did was win some easy fights then beat a one armed groves who was already going to retire

That said, none of the top guys at 168 have any great wins at the weight, so nobody has really made a real statement as the top man. So I suppose winning the WBSS is the best claim.

I guess we will find out if he’s a worthy opponent for Canelo, but the only truly decent name on his record is Groves, and it certainly wasn’t the Groves from a few years earlier before the tough fights and pretty much career ending injury.

I’m not gonna fully judge him on the Ryder fight, he could be like Fury who raises his game to the opponent. So it would been nice to have another good win on the record because there’s always question marks over his biggest win v Groves.
