Comments Thread For: Callum Smith: Best Version of Me Beats Canelo

Callum Smith knows he put on a piss-poor performance in his last fight against John Ryder last November, but he believes the critics who keep harping on it as a true indication of his abilities clearly have no clue what the word "anomaly" means.

He is going to dwarf Canelo and I do mean dwarf.
That guy is the biggest SMW I've ever seen, he is bigger than most LHWs in history. He's literally 6ft3 & has a big frame.

I think that off-night against Ryder has a lot of people forgetting Callum is not just huge but he's a pretty damn good fighter too.

I have no idea who wins this but I wouldn't at all be surprised if Callum won or even stopped Canelo. I can't really think of a decent body puncher (outside Cotto) that Canelo has fought?

I think people just look at Canelo's opponents and look for anything they can use to discredit Canelo with. I've been wrong in a lot of predictions in recent times but I'll go ahead and say this is a very dangerous fight for Canelo.
      Callum Smith is no gimme.

Anyone who has an "off-night" against Ryder is going to have a looong night with Canelo.

Then that means 2 of the 3 champs at 168.

This fight will be competitive while it lasts. Canelo with his bobbing and weaving will manage to get inside Smith and hammer away at his body, and will eventually stop him in the late rounds.

Callum is from Liverpool. This is his Champion's League Final.

Liverpool FC had an off night against Wolves - 7-2 loss - Wolves were John Ryder that night. Now Callum has to go and fight Canelo just the same way as Liverpool would walk out to face Bayern Munich in a CL final.

Probably Canelo wins easily. If Callum was a killer and a threat, he would not be a 168 fighter. He has a height of cruiserweight, if not a heavyweight. There is a reason why is Callum at 168, fighting much smller guys. Because jr. heavyweight Beterbiev probably kills him, lol.

Golovkin! But GGG was hesitant to go to the body because he knew he'd get countered.
