This fight just shows the problem good Aussie boxers have, getting decent opposition so as to prepare for world class opposition. To go with his team to the US for a few months there would just be too expensive.

I hope so, not sure there’s much to agree or disagree on though to be honest. We really won’t know what he’s capable of until he fights someone at world level, or at least significantly better than the guys he has been churning through.

I look forward to seeing what he can do though and I hope you’re right. Would be brilliant to see him at the top of 154. It’s a good division to be developing in right now too so can’t wait for his next fight.

Kostya never fought above 140, and Tim is at 154.
Tim is not lightning quick, but he can't be 140lbs quick like Kostya was.

Nothing can replace the old mans amateur experience.He really was one of the greatest of all time .But Tim's alot better than alot of the sons of the boxing world,talentwise .

His father is a millionaire and they have big money sponsors onboard its not about money, they can go to the states anytime they like just like the others from here before them, they chose not to because the class jumps 10 fold and they may be derailed with no local support. its much easier to get the hype going at home and the opponents are easy beats, wont be so easy in US they not rushing to get there.

He has to go to the US some time, those who tried to jump into world class straight from AU mostly failed. Getting some alternative training would help too, with his reputation he could get some world class sparring, he won't get that in AU. Look at the Horn debacle, Crawford would probably have beat him anyway but their US camp was a disorganised disaster.

I doubt that his Dad is funding him, he has his own new family in Russia.
