canelo is easily most overrated of all time. the worst supposed p4p#1 of all time too.

    - was gifted his first belt against matthew frickin hatton at a catchweight he couldn't even make!! hahahahaha

    - should have losses to lara, ggg twice and arguably trout (or at least a draw)

    - abuse of rehydration clauses and catchweights so much so that he invented his own weight class hahahahahahahahahaha

    - dumped his wbc belt like a coward to avoid prime GGG mandatory. it was only until ggg looked human against jacobs that canelo finally took the fight. COWARD!!!

    - confirmed drug cheat

    - his best non controversial wins are jacobs (was still a very competitive close fight), old past prime small cotto, old past prime kovalev coming shortly off a very hard fight, and old past prime mosley

hahahahahahaha completely overrated. legend??? heck no!!!!!!!!!

Canelo is a great fighter, without a doubt, and an excellent match maker...

Everybody was saying Callum Smith was ****e and lost to that unknown midget, but now the same ppl are saying he's the top guy at 168... give me a break.

Not to mention...3 weeks notice for Callum Smith
      No drug testing for Canelo..

We've seen this before... Floyd taught everybody the tricks.

        Typical **********.

Whines about outlanding and ignores vid of infamous Borat "outlanding"....literally can't make this stuff up

Borat throws about 30 punches and Canelo throws 0 (zero). By the way, CANELO won that exchange....straight Willie Pep style...it's called BOXING

Let’s not forget Canelo fought at 175 last time out. Going back down a division is never easy, even if you’re not big at the weight.

So maybe Canelo himself didn’t want to stifle his own rehydration.
Doubt it. The clause limit is a 10lb rehydration in the morning. Canelo looked filled, soft, at the Kovalev weigh in. Same thing as Mikey Garcia against Spence. Looked the same in the ring as in the weigh in. Because it’s not their class and they don’t have to worry about dehydration performance. That’s the reason why Mikey had tolerance against the already depleted Spence. Use what you got, and in these cases like Canelo and Mikey, they get to perform without hurting their body to make the scale.

Canelo looks the size as in the Fielding fight. In the Fielding weigh in he was also filled. So take it Canelo gains about 7lbs of water at most at SMW. He’s 175 in the ring. If he fights a LHW, 2-3lbs of water depleted at most. Fans forget that if a fighter is the same physique in weight classes but going up, means they don’t have to worry about making the scales whereas the other opponent is a different story. Smith looks to hydrate 18lbs of water. The burden is on him for wanting to stay and Defend at SMw. Smith would do that with any other SMW fight, so it doesn’t matter that he’s fighting Canelo.

Lol yeah it is called BOXING. Nobody wins an exchange if nothing lands.

To put it another way - who has better defense, the guy who isn't even allowing the other to attempt to score (GGG) or the guy who is evading the other guy's punches (Canelo).

You have to land punches on your opponent to score.

Yeah...I disagree, it’s crazy you could watch his career and not be able to recognize his talent.

Other than the Bs scorecards nobody could say he is hyped up too much. The dude stepped up every time even at light heavyweight, what more could you ask?

And this is coming from a GGG fan. I respect the dude. I dont like his scorecards but he is the real deal

Willie Pep won a round throwing zero punches for 3 minutes. Canelo landed MORE POWER PUNCHES than Borat in the 1st fight despite throwing 100's LESS.

What kind of nonsense are you on boy

"A lot of times fans hear that judges focus on four categories: clean punches, effective aggressiveness, defense and ring generalship," Weisfeld said. "But based upon my own experience, my conversations with other judges and seminars conducted by top judges, judges really focus on one category, and that's clean punches."

No you dont. If you are making your opponent miss you are showing effective defense..

This isnt the amateurs. You dont get "points".

So yes you can win an "exchange" if you can even call it that, by making your opponent look silly and tire out by making him miss.
