You don't have to choose between them.
Boxing, MMA, bare knuckle, kickboxing, lethwei, Karate Combat. I like boxing the most but they each have their appeal.
Currently 4 bucks per month gets you Bare Knuckle TV which gets you at least one BKFC event, usually a Toe the Line event, and starting next month lethwei events too. The top fighters in the sport under one promotional banner on the same app for one price.
Compare that to boxing. Just to watch boxing I have DAZN, ESPN+, Showtime, and an expensive cable package. And then they hit us for PPVs too. And half the time we don't get the fights we want anyway because some fighters are with Arum, some are with PBC, some are with Hearn, some are with DLH, etc.
If you want to watch UFC you have to subscribe to ESPN+ and then buy PPVs on top of that. Add FightPass if you're a hardcore fan.
In kickboxing the best fighters are scattered throughout a dozen promotions on multiple continents in multiple rulesets (Muay Thai, American Style, K1 rules, Dutch style, Sanda, lethwei, etc) and it's hard as hell to follow.Comment

This is true. Boxing gloves are a weapon, not a safety device. Boxing gloves allow fighters to punch much harder on a broader range of targets with a much lower risk of breaking their hands or cutting their opponents. So you have the double impact of harder punches and fewer stoppages, compounded by the much longer fights (BKFC is 5 rounds x 2 minutes; boxing fights are 4 minutes x 4-12 rounds). No, its punching people in the face hundreds of times purely for entertainment purposes. Leaving people punch drunk later in life and occasionally resulting in serious injuries and death.
I dont understand how anyone can get high and mighty when it comes to combat sports. They're all pretty ****ed up if we are being honest. Boxing fans used to do it towards MMA and now ironically ive seen MMA fans try to do it with BKB, using the exact same criticisms that used to be levelled at MMA.
Bare knuckle results in more superficial hand and face injuries but significantly less head trauma than standard boxing.
As for the tribalism, as you said, it's nothing new in combat sports or martial arts. MMA fans vs boxing fans, Karate guys vs Taekwondo guys, Aikido guys vs reality, etc.Comment

Boxing is like jazz. poetry in motion. BKF is human c.o.c.k fighting. No, its punching people in the face hundreds of times purely for entertainment purposes. Leaving people punch drunk later in life and occasionally resulting in serious injuries and death.

No way. Some of the guys on the last card looked like they'd never been in a fight in their lives.
And no clinch fighting with the larger ring means the fighters just run away from each other or hold. In BKFC there's nowhere to run and if you grab the other guy he can pull your head down right into an uppercut.
clinch fighting just looks sloppy
you need more skill/options with no clinch
I think BKB is the best by far... it's the only one I watch regularly
but there have been no recent cards from BKBComment

There was a card a few weeks ago and it was hot garbage. The ref had to yell at the fighters to engage like a dozen times throughout the fights.
And the best BKB fighters graduate to BKFC anyway, like Tyler Goodjohn did.Comment

This IS boxing. Boxing just evolved into a gloved sport. This is boxing taken back to arguable a more natural version of the sport. Granted the talent in BKFC isn't on par with the talent in boxing.Comment

BKB have not uploaded any fights for months... I assume its their off-season, or maybe covid
Goodjohn is not even close to their best fighter... not... even... close...
I much prefer BKBComment
