He said he'd fight whomever held the title. Nothing's changed there -- he's had a long-stated aim of holding all the belts at once. If it's Tyson, no biggie.

If he says: Tyson's the only fight I want, the only one of any importance, what's the upside? If Tyson fights a Seferi-type nobody again or takes the Wilder rematch or falls out of the sport again, then necessarily Joshua has to fight someone who isn't Fury and then he gets bashed for saying the Fury fight was the only one worth making.
Nah, it’s because AJ is placing importance on undisputed, not Fury

    Wanna know why?

Because it gives him an excuse to defend his WBO in a mandatory against Usyk and duck the Fury fight.

Those are the words. I think they're clear.

It took everyone on the broadcast almost begging him to say it.

Real champs call out names after a victory. AJ didn't want to utter Furys name as if the mere vocalization would bring a terrible curse. That's fear. Real fear.

Yeah, it's only Joshua who has ever cared about undisputed. Everyone else loves multiple champions in each division.

He cares when it suits them. When it works in their favour.

I.e duck Fury to fight Usyk, saying he wants to keep his WBO belt and not vacate.

There’s plenty of older interviews with Hearn saying AJ has no problem vacating belts if it means bigger fights, but now that’s totally changed.

And there's plenty of interviews of Hearn saying Joshua wants the undisputed. Eddie says a lot of things.

We know for a fact that Joshua cares more about the belts than Fury, because Fury has never defended a belt. Ever.

I can't read Joshua's mind. There are plenty of times when he has stated his goal is to hold all the belts though. I'm not going to buy into anyone's view on what the next fight will definitely be on the same night he has just fought, because it clearly is not fixed yet. In spite of your rock-solid insight into the unknown, I'll wait to see what happens.

I know enough about boxing to know when a fighter or their teams have other plans than how they act

That said, The difference in this situation is the fight everyone wants generates way too much money for it to not be a factor. Might be worth forgetting about undisputed and vacate the WBO.

So Eddie and Joshua might just decide to cash out next against fury and be done with.

                  ——————-

The only other belt holder in HW division is Fury.
Two, Fury is undefeated and destroyed the KO artist named Wilder.
Three, both are British and it’s possibly going the biggest fight in the history of British boxing.
Four, it would be for the undisputed title in unifying all the belts.

So, a simple response like, “the biggest fight to make right now is Tyson Fury. It’s the fight boxing fans want and will be both our biggest paydays”.

It’s that simple. There’s no homage or shame in calling for that fight.

Let Fury duck it so AJ can accuse him of that if he does duck.

Lastly, at this point, that’s the only fight we all want.

                    Big dosser rat bum lol

The only one out there that can really beat fury is AJ. Sure any boxer has a chance but AJ has the best shot. Fury has never fought anyone as good as AJ.

Klitschko has the conservative European style where jab jab clinch then more jabs wait to throw the straight right was easily diffused by fury. Wilders pawing wait to throw one punch no skill off back foot was also easily diffused by fury.

AJ, though has many question marks, can fight on the inside and throw combos and fight off his back foot. I think AJ is still trying to find his style and or reinvent himself. Pulev fight was a good example of AJ trying like 3 different fighting styles. Only way for AJ to ascend as a fighter is to do this and be creative. I think 240 is a good weight for him as he's not weighed down by muscle and gassing out.

Fury isn't a knock out fighter. So this allows AJ to fight on the inside with him. Fury doesn't throw fast combos either. Fury is a strategical fighter. He finds your weaknesses, nullifies your strengths and grinds it out. He did this with wilder and klitschko.

AJs only way to beat a fighter like fury is to become a diverse fighter which he has been trying to do. I think this will be a 50/50 match and probably go the distance.

he adjusted to the unfolding situation in front of him which is he were never in trouble . That s****** on pulevs face soon went . Are you not a boxing man ? Can you not read a fight ? Do you not understand
about setting traps and entertaining at This level , when small gaps appear due to you finding enough distance and realising you’ve slowed your opponent up enough to give them confidence to come forward when you show them enough of the target and them boom ? Good performance by Joshua I reckon.
