Real creative "Fraud". I doubt any of the popular welterweights could leave Floyd laid out like Roy Jones was.

I've seen this nonsense written over and over again. Mayweather is the same size at Welterweight as he was at Jr. Welter. If Hatton ever decides to fight Mayweather and the only option is to have the fight at 147, why wouldn't Hatton just train like he does to make the Jr. Welter limit? I mean, as long as he weighs 147 or less at the scales there isn't a problem and if he's so much better when he trains to make 140, why would he bother trying to bulk up to fight a guy who could still easily make 135 if he wanted to? That's a ****ing ridiculous excuse for that fight not happening at Welter weight.

I think Floyd's best weight is at 140. He still is quick at that weight. 147 he has good speed but it isn't unbelievable IMO.

Now would that lead to choosing the toughest fight? Lately, there really is no "toughest fight out there". They would all be tough. (Margarito, Hatton, Spinks, Baldy) To the casual boxing fan are the names Margarito, Spinks, and Hatton bigger than Baldomir, Gatti, and Judah? No, no, no.

It's a busines and a sweetscience, just enjoy the fights.
I disagree. I'd say all you need is ONE of the main event fighters to be the "DRAW". Boxing is a dying sport and most of these fighters are NOT known to the "casual" boxing fan, if there is such a thing. It all depends on the marketing scheme and amount of money HBO/ST/TopRank put into promoting these guys. I mean for Gods sakes they are still trying to SELL US HAS-BEEN RAHMAN EVEN AFTER HIS LOSSES TO TUA, Lewis, Maskaev, Maskaev again. OMG! lol.

The "sweetscience" sounds gay lol no offense. That is a VERY old cliche from early 1900's. If you believe in this "sweetscience" I would suggest you wake up to the reality of the 21st century my friend. My generation of the 21st century wants to see blood, sweat and tears! We want to see what kind of heart these MEN have. Times are changing and if you dont change with the times the times will leave you behind! That's why such organizations such as PRIDE, UFC, KOTC are getting a bigger fan base. Because they are tailoring their fights toward MY NEW GENERATION of FIGHT fans. We dont want to hear "sweet" or "science" in such a violent sport lol.

Anyways a nice objective post nonetheless. props.

Honestly, unless I'm really missing something, I really don't see any difference between the 140 and 147 lb incarnations of Mayweather. He came into the ring at close to 147 for his Jr. Welterweight bouts, and he's come into the ring at 146-147 for his two Welterweight fights. If he's looked slower at 147 so far, it's because fought two slick southpaws in his only fights there.

This just shows Mayweather really needs to step up in competition, especially for a fighter who claimed himself better than Ali, Leonard and Robinson. I also think his victory over Baldomir in November would do little to save his plummeting reputation.
