People here are making it out like Porter wouldn't accept a low guarantee if it meant he got a really good split. I'm saying he has and would. He's not as money driven as the rest, he wants to be known as a great.

It's not like Crawford who SAYS he does but then openly prices himself out of a Manny and Spence fight. That's not seeking greatness, that's money hungry, like everyone else besides Porter and maybe Ugas.
porter aint taking no 1-2 mil for a bud fight though....i like porter and all and believe hes probably less about the money than most but he still is.....trust me..im on your side as far as bud and his issues....i just dont think bringing up porters 1 mil purse # from an old fight means anything....you know porter took home more than that for the fight you referenced

Sure. But we also do know (especially from the video at the front of this thread) that Bob Arum isn't in the business of paying much more than that.

Now, if Crawford were at PBC? I'd fully agree with everyone here that the money would go much higher, but that's because PBC isn't going to give Crawford guaranteed $3 million for any fight until and unless he beats someone with a pulse.

I'm talking about IF Bob Arum is to make the fight happen, and we just heard him say the most he'd offer is $1 million, of course smart money is a purse bid, but if Porter wanted to pull the Top Rank card, he'd pull a Floyd/De La Hoya and say "whatever you guys want, I'm taking the WBO regardless".

THAT is what I really want to see from every fighter - accept B-Side to be great.
