Who is smarter inside the ring

Canelo. Spence has decent boxing IQ but I think he gets most of his success through raw athleticism rather than strategy. Alvarez on the other hand is exceptionally crafty. He's very good at laying traps and setting up openings for shots. He has many excellent attributes but his IQ is probably his single best attribute. He's extremely good at working to a gameplan.

Canelo. Both have very high ring IQ’s but Canelo’s is absolutely exceptional. The lateral body movement, the punch variation, every shot he throws is near technically perfect and from a strong base, meaning his feet are always correctly placed. To be 5”8 and knocking out a Light Heavyweight champion you have to have an incredible ring IQ. I’m no fan of Canelo but he’s a tremendously smart fighter.

Canelo easily he can **** with you or outbox you like he did Jacobs and stand right in front of you and make you miss a 5 punch combo

Thats not ring IQ thats boxing attributes, IQ is mentally out maneuvering and offsetting opponents, setting traps, pacing, controlling distance, doing all this by reading your opponents moves and making adjustments to control what your opponent can do.

I think Errol has the higher ring IQ, Canelo is no dummy but he is more aggressive which goes against ring IQ, the best brains in boxing generally dont takes the risks that another fighter will, they generally more reserved waiting for the optimum time to launch.

The perfect answer for you is we seen Canelo when he was in with a ring IQ master he didnt know what to do except follow the leader, Manny was the same they didnt know what to do to out smart a guy that was 2 steps ahead, just to add if Floyd was a MW he do that Canelo at any time.

And Im not saying Canelo and Manny are dumb, they are great in their own way and at top level they all have high ring IQ, Im just pointing out the levels of Ring IQ and Floyd is a great yardstick as he had one of the highest ring IQs in history.

Spence never came off as a smart fighter to me.

I think Spence is probably the better fighter p4p to be honest. Although I rate Canelos IQ maybe slightly higher? Spence could have an easier time if he chose to box against Porter for example.
