  • Why are PPV main events always on so late

One thing you can guarantee every fight night is almost everyone on here saying please Ffs get on with the main event.

But every time it's always at 10, 10.30, 11 or sometimes even later

Why do we have to sit through 12 rounds of Hughie Fury vs Wach this weekend which is no doubt going to push the main event out until 11pm

I just don't get it, is it for the Bar Market to make sure people stay late buying drinks?

Wouldn't even mind if it was a stacked undercard of interesting fights but we don't get them anymore we get hughie fury or Ted cheeseman or in the US they wheel out Badou Jack to get his 18th 12 round draw or some other boring ****

    Same story every time.

I always assumed that the main event starts late because they want to squeeze as many last minute ppv buys as possible.

Maybe cause they have no sport to compete late night aside from UFC?

8-9pm Pacific Time is the gold standard along with Vegas. This is also practical for magic hour in the East Coast NYC, 10-11. Sucks in Europe at 4am. Usually sleeping and just putting my alarm and a coffee and crash out again afterward. I can’t stay up so late anymore. Not worth it and not good for the health. Plus I don’t drink

Very annoying, I waited and waited for the DDD/JJ fight. And nearly missed the fight because i was sleeping off, Thank God that card didn't include Lawrence Okolie. I would have been fast asleep.

I grew up in California and it was great. Main events would start at 8 or 9 at the latest. In college we could get together and watch a fight and still go out afterwards.
Now I live in TX and work a lot on the east coast and it sucks. Big fight main events don’t start until after midnight sometimes.

Isn’t 11 is average for the main event? However the minimum is the co-main broadcast which is around 10+ east coast? 10-11?
