Broner was a four weight champ, Paulie also a two weight champ. I do agree that Danny was a top five welter for several years, but he got a couple of gifts in his career and lost each time he stepped up to another top five welter.
Danny Garcia is 2 division champion

Yeah, but he at least fought at top level. Imagine, if Crawford finally fights Spence and loses badly, people will say: Crawford is overhyped, he was good at lower division only, he beat nobody good at 147.Comment

I think we can all agree that Danny was a stud at 140 but his run at 147 is horrible. He's 0-3 against the top guys he faced and picked up a vacant strap beating a washed up Guerrero. In some weird way I see him having more success at 154 if he avoids fighting Charlo.Comment

Yep, this is why if Spence gets Pacquiao next, I hope we get Crawford against Porter. Imagine if Crawford just washes Porter? That would be a huge statement since not even Spence could do that. And if Spence gets Pacquiao out of there, the hype for this fight would be pretty unreal.
All good! This was the fight that almost everyone was sure that Danny was going to lose. I still can't believe we got that good of a co-main for a PPV that was going to sell regardless of who was on the UC.
Danny is an interesting case. He fights inferior opponents in between tough fights but when you look at his career in totality, you see the man was fighting tough fights even as a prospect and took on top guys at 140 and 147. He fought Theopane, Campbell and Holt back to back to back as an 22-23 year old and they were all challenging fights for him (Campbell a little less so). And then he fights Morales and Khan following those three tough fights. Khan was coming off the disputed Peterson loss and everyone was certain he was going to destroy Danny, especially after his struggle against Morales...But that didn't happen and Danny ended Khan in four and shortly after beat Matthysse in another fight he was the underdog in. He then took on some easier fights but still ended up getting Thurman, Porter and Spence at WW. If Crawford signs with the PBC soon, who is to say he won't eventually fight him either? Danny is a good dude, good fighter and has had respected career.Comment

See, this is what I don't get. If he fought the same caliber fighters at 147 that he did at 140, he would have been just as successful. Only Spence has clearly beat him and had his way with him. Danny was right there with Porter and he closed the Thurman fight well and almost pulled that one off. Losing close decisions to those two fighters doesn't mean Danny has had a horrible run at WW. Just a bit unlucky in a few fights (after having some luck go his way at 140).I think we can all agree that Danny was a stud at 140 but his run at 147 is horrible. He's 0-3 against the top guys he faced and picked up a vacant strap beating a washed up Guerrero. In some weird way I see him having more success at 154 if he avoids fighting Charlo.
His run against the top WWs is like Dereveyanchenko's run at MW against Jacobs/GGG/Charlo. He was extremely close with Jacobs and GGG, while losing a clear but competitive fight to Charlo. Doesn't make him a bad fighter at all.Comment

He won a vacant title at 140 by beating 600 year old former super bantamweight Erik Morales.
The fight was so competitive, they had a rematch.
He unified by knocking out Amir Khan, something that isn’t exactly hard to do.
He moved up and won a vacant title against former lightweight Robert Guerrero. Guerrero barely sc****d by a 19-3-1 fighter in his previous fight and tasted canvas.
So I don’t really care that he’s a two division champion.
He’s invented by his promoter like many other boxing champions.Comment
