Throughout his entire career Floyd chose to be the bad guy as it sold tickets. He has 6 of his fights in the all time pay per view too 10 so it clearly worked, Plus he retired undefeated so there you have it

Apparently people forgot that Ali had ZERO respect from America when he refused the draft and again when he went on TV and said racist remarks.

He wasn't appreciated at all until long after he was retired from the business.

The same will be true of Floyd Mayweather.

but he’s still a **** head now after he’s supposedly retired with his constant showing off of his money. Loads of boxers have made astronomical amounts of money but they don’t flaunt it like he does. To me that’s what puts a lot of people off him. There’s no question about how great of a boxer he is.

And have nothing to show for it.

Holyfield selling homes and moving into an apartment

Ali was broke just before he passed

McClellan is supported by donations after making CRAPTONS of money

Michael Watson I believe had to get a regular job

Remember Orlando Salido was driving Uber

They just said that Santana or whatever that guy's name was that fought Josesito? Had a day job

        Toney's broke

        Hearns is broke

Leonard isn't broke but he lost a LOT of money

Oscar isn't broke but he lost a LOT of money

Buster Douglas got all his money pimped away by Don King

Mitch Green still had his old beater from the 70's, living in a shack of an apartment, broke

Mike "can I at least get a blow job?" Tyson. No longer broke, but he lost a LOT of money

        Tarver went broke

Eubank Sr. having to borrow money and cars from his son

Nigel Benn blew his all on drugs and didn't recover for at least 10 years but nowhere near his peak

Hamed went from riches to rags

        Judah went broke (Don King)

        Stiverne was getting ripped off

Humberto Soto was making good money, now broke

        Freddie Norwood - broke

        Derrick Gainer - broke

Reports were that Corrales was broke which is why Floyd chipped on the funeral, same as Chicanito and we all know Gatti's woman that killed him took all his money

        Mickey Ward - broke

        Ricky Hatton - broke

        Etc etc etc.

Meanwhile, Floyd publicly flashes money while privately paying for funerals, giving donations to charity, running a non-profit, buying and passing out food during Thanksgiving, and helping George Floyd's family.

I'm willing to give the guy a pass. At least he's not like MC Hammer, hiring people for the hell of it who run him dry and then leave him hanging.

Muhammad Ali had plenty of respect, just not from a certain demographic.

I think people within the sport respect Mayweather, but his respect has not transcended beyond the sport etc

                  You're trying to rewrite history.

Ali straight up called Frazier a gorilla. When that happened, blacks worldwide in AND out of the business turned on Ali and thought it was disrespectful and not appropriate.

Ali didn't get regain any of that respect until after Foreman sparked Frazier with ease and Ali/Foreman was booked, BECAUSE Foreman was the most feared guy at the time and taking that fight was considered suicide.

When Ali schooled Foreman with rope-a-dope people turned on Ali for fighting like a coward. Foreman had his infamous fight with 5 guys, Ali on commentary, while demanding a rematch. People were against both guys - Foreman for what looked like a blatant stunt against cans and Ali for acting the way he did from ringside without taking the rematch.

Turns out Ali ducked the rematch because Foreman had changed trainers to one that no longer suited an easy win for Ali. Ali asked for a condition: hire back the old trainer (**** Sadler), Foreman said no. Ali would continue taking soft touches as he declined. Again, he didn't gain back any respect until the beating Larry Holmes put on him, and that was only out of pity.

You have agenda against Muhammad Ali, that is extremely clear.

                    Muhammad Ali fought Foreman courageously.

Plenty of people where against the war in Vietnam, if Ali annoyed and did not get respect from a certain demographic 'That was their issue'.
