Both Danny And Spence consciously decided not to switch it to the next gear..... but why?
Danny Garcia is more understandable being he was the one being tamed and controlled by Errol Spence pressure and shots but why at no point did Danny Garcia ever decide to sell out?. Sell Out in the sense of making peace with the fact you might get laid out but that's the fire you have to walk to get something to happen for you to win this fight? is it that infamous notion "its hard to get up when you're sleeping in silk sheet" mentality? Where the pride, desire of not losing is no longer an important variable in your life?

Errol Spence had an amazing comeback performance but he did what we expected him to do, even less if we remove the "car accident" ordeal out the equation. However the fight plateaued midway with Errol Spence no longer attempting to push Garcia off the edge anymore but rather happy keeping him on the plank waiting for Danny to trip himself. That never happened so the fight never progressed in drama and the fight ended in no real dramatic sequence or no pure bravado moments beside Danny Garcia last ditch effect in the final closing seconds of the fight.
IMO this is what boxers are missing is that raw emotions in a fight that makes a fight more than a fight instead it makes it personal even if there was no "bad blood" entering the fight. Fighters have been too complacent with just being friends, worrying about the others safety, or not overly concerned with winning in non-spectacular fashion.
Theirs only one fighter who I see with that killer instinct him and thats Crawford. Say what you want about Crawford lackluster 147 run but him vs Danny Garcia would have been him getting KO'd or him KO'ing Danny Garcia no inbetween imo.
