  • Comments Thread For: Joshua: Pulev Will Be a Good Fight To Indicate Where I'm At

Anthony Joshua might have shown his vulnerabilities when losing to Andy Ruiz Jr last year but the WBC, WBA, IBO and WBO heavyweight champion believes he is a much better boxer now than the one Kubrat Pulev would have faced when they were first supposed to box three years ago.

What? A guy nearly 40 who has barely been in a meaningful fight since he got ironed out by Wlad about 6 years ago

Not knocking AJ, it’s a mandatory fight so it is what it is, but this version of Pulev should be no measuring stick for guy considered the no.2 HW in the world.

If Tyson Fury would of beaten Pulev? It would his third best win.

And here you are complaining, as if Joshua is fighting push overs. Joshua overall has a better resume than Fury, and is held to a higher standard etc

Not stating that he is a better fighter, NOBODY knows that for sure 'But Joshua is clearly held to a higher standard'.

Pulev fought Kiltschko like a madman, it was more competitive than the results showed 'It was a exciting fight while it lasted'.

Note: Off topic, I honestly think Tyson Fury does not really deep down want to fight. Fury is not the type of champion who wants to clear out the division 'Joshua is the only real heavyweight who is systematically trying to clear out the division'.

Where did I complain about the fight exactly? It’s a mandatory, I have no complaints

I just don’t feel Pulev is a measuring stick for a supposed top level fighter at this point in his career.

          I think most would agree.

Also it’s funny that you say Joshua is the only one trying to clean out a division when he’s never beat any long reigning champions or credible champions for their belts. Fury is the only one that took belts from guys considered around the top of the division.

Fury is the one that has proven he is willing to fight top fighters, where as Joshua takes belt off the likes of Charles Martin. Joshua best win is a Fury leftover, never forget.

That’s why Fury is a two time ring magazine champion. they don’t give them belts out to anybody like alphabet titles, you win them by beating top level fighters in big fights. Joshua has never even had a sniff at the ring magazine belt, it’s never been on the line for any of his fights because the fights were not worth it.

Well A.J, you are going to fight a Big-Man this time and you wont have a 22 foot ring to run. Every time Gay-J fights a top contender around or over 6′ 4″, he stinks or nearly gets KO -- Thats what I'm hoping for Kubrat to do.

I just threw the Ruiz vs. Joshua II. gifs to highlight how scared A.J is of letting his opponents touch his chin.

              You are passively complaining.

Pulev would be Tyson Fury third best win, if he would of faced him and beat him etc

Did you complain about Tyson Fury's supposed December 5th opponent? No, because you have a agenda.

I am just calling the situation, exactly how it is? Anthony Joshua has a better overall resume than Tyson Fury 'And is held to a higher standard' You already know this deathofaclown, everyone know's this.

I am neutral on both fighters, just reporting on the landscape.

Haha I’m not complaining about the fight at all. It could be much worse as a mandatory. My point is Pulev is no measuring stick for a a top fighter at this point

If Fury had fought Kabayel, I’d say exactly the same thing, which I did. I.e for a short notice fight it could be worse, but it’s not going to do anything for Fury. It wouldn’t be considered a good win.

AJ hasn’t got a better resume, he might’ve beaten a few more C level fighters, but Fury has the better top level wins. Fury has also never been knocked out by a fringe contender like Ruiz.

AJ’s great resume is a myth.

Who’s he fought at actual world level? The Whyte fight was a domestic level fight at the time.

Povetkin is good win, even if he’s old. Wlad was a good win but was coming off a loss to Fury. Parker was a good win, but we seen him lose to Whyte, he’s not that good. Parker is probably similar level to Chisora.

The rest of his fights are guys like Molina, Takam, Breazeale etc. I don’t consider them any better than guys like Chisora, Cunningham etc.. in fact I’d say Chisora may be better than those. He flattened Takam.

So AJ’s 3 only genuine impressive wins are Wlad, Povetkin and maybe Parker if we’re being generous.

Fury’s big wins are the champ Wlad before AJ did it, and Wilder. Should’ve been 2 wins v Wilder.

                I’d take Fury’s big 2 wins over those 3.

To be fair AJ had a good solid ko win against Dillian Whyte when he was still undefeated And also the wlad he fought was much better than the one who lost to fury but AJ lost to a little butterbean and fury is a drug cheat who feigned mental illness as a smokescreen. The jury is still out on both fighters. They need to fight each other ASAP

Dude talks like he’s a novice and never had an amateur career that took him to world championships and olympics!! So all this yarn about his experience needs to shut up. He knew how it was when he took the Charles Martin fight. He knew becoming world champ you gotta stay at a high level. Sick to death hearing him say he’s got barely any experience. Just to try making out his resume is AMAZING. And he wonders why nobody actually likes or rates him.
Proven to the fans he cannot fight when outside his comfort zone. And nobody can tell me “but rematch was in Saudi it was neutral” then it shows you so called AJ Fanboys don’t even know that the Middle East is where he spends most of his life and time!! Amazing how still to this day his rant at Eddie chambers never ever gets brought up. I bet Eddie Hearn poor missus wishes he would speak about her like he does Joshua. Lmfao.
