The danger in this for Canelo is that he will no longer be given any advantages if he is going to go as a guest on other promoters' cards against their own fighters. He is going to have to sink or swim entirely on his own, because they are going to want him to lose and make a star out of whomever they are putting up against him. I respect that a lot and think it will make for great fights, but it's risky for him.

Canelo should fight Bivol and Beterbiev. Those are all heavier challenges to really test Canelo

I don't fancy the Beterbiev fight thou, just think it's not fair for a guy who started his pro career at 140 to fight a dude who's pro debut was at 185 and who fought all his amateur career at Cruiserweight.

It's like asking Teofimo who debuted at 135 to fight Kovalev or Yarde.
