up until that point? that was like 3 years into his championship level career...not very impressive and i dont even agree with that. he fought 2 top guys at 130 in 3 years, ok not amazing but not bad. those 2 top guys were pretty slow fighters that floyd exploited but the next top guys up were slick casamayor and explosive freitas...time to move up and take on slow plodding castillo! then that backfired and sent him into some kind of depressive spiral as he lost his confidence and never really got it back. he picked the slow guy and still lost? what the hell! from then on...they didnt have to be just slow but slow and old! or at least old!

he literally said while he was in his prime im not fighting to prove who the best is and yet you are on here trying to dispute that? like i said floyd protection force. the guy was a good fighter but a better con man can we agree to that? i dont hate him. i want to be a conman like him someday. i have the intelligence(i think) but not sure i have the soulless interior that it takes. how can i get rid of that feeling that makes me feel bad taking advantage of people?

I think the whole idea of "cherrypicking" is pretty much pointless when it comes to these exhibition fights, but I still think it's fair to point out how absurd this is. Even though Floyd's retired from pro boxing it seems like he's not been able to retire from being centre of attention all the damn time. Just look at the timing of this, it comes like a week after the last big exhibition fight and pretty much straight after the announcement that it was a success. This happens every time a big event in boxing either happens or is announced - Floyd has to barge his way in and announce something because having people talk about other fighters and not him seems to be something that he just can't seem to stand. This time, farcical circus clownshow fights seem to be in vogue so he announces the most farcical circus clownshow fight yet because that's what's going to put his name back on people's lips. The best boxer of his generation fighting some youtube guy whose only real claim to fame is being especially obnoxious. It just feels sad, desperate and more than a little pathetic. Boxing feels like even less of a serious professional sport than it usually does right now.

so wait you just admitted he ducked a hoya rematch did you not? but in all seriousness just look at the rankings from when floyd got to ww and then look at the excsues he made not to fight some of these guys. its pretty comical

did ali avoid prime foreman, frazier, and liston and retire instead? did he say they lived too far away or they had to take the test and then when they said ok said oh wait you only get a tiny flat fee now? did ali say "Me and foreman, we're not fighting to prove to the boxing fans who the best is." come on now! floyd would have done this 10 years ago if he could without any doubt. floyd could stil box top guys right now if he wanted! and hes not! why? cause he doesnt have to! before he had to fight someone to make money and that was the right opponent for him, guys he knew he could beat or were over the hill. now he doesnt even have to do that. ali on the other hand was taking fights like against holmes even though he knew he couldnt and wouldnt win! yeah cherry picking!

This is what you wrote and I just copy pasted it

floyds last 3 opponents: conor, small japanese boy, and logan paul and his fans say hes not a cherry picker?

My response was in that context which is also exactly what Ali did. He fought an NFL guy and a wrestler in his last fights.

It is exactly what Floyd has done. So if Floyd cherry picked his last three fights then so did Ali. Unless you have a different scale you are using to measure Floyd?

well you ignored the part where ali fought everyone and floyd fake retired and said i dont fight to prove who is best but ill humor you.

alis last fights were not against a wrestler and a football player. he fought both guys when he was still an active boxer. he fought the football player when he was still heavyweight champ. why? i dont know why but prob to boost his brand and promote his boxing fights. he fought the wrestler before his last title shot. this wasnt just a grift to take peoples money and not give them anything substantive. is floyd figthing paul to promote a spence fight? if so then that would be equivalent to what ali did. so no not exactly the same. in fact i would say extremely different. alis silly fights were all second order to his boxing fights. floyds silly fights lead to nothing.

Well he fought the best guy at 130 and the best at 135 anyway. The Floyd of later years wouldn’t have fought either...not in their primes anyway.

I do. It’s a shame. Highly doubt Pac would stoop so low as to fight Tenshin or Paul though. That is just truly pathetic on Floyd’s part.

Put Floyd in the Octagon, I would pay for him to get his ass kicked, but I would not give not even $1 for this fight
