Because in this era of boxing, that’s exactly what the reason is in the vast majority of occasions. And it’s enablers and apologists with attitudes like yours that have allowed boxing to reach this sorry state.

It’s only once fans, journalists and promoters alike start demanding fights and calling out fighters that boxing will reverse its decline into being a marginal sport.

All these top 5-6 guys are on a similar level, they have different strengths and weaknesses that balance out. People only think Crawford is clear of the bunch because he hasn't fought anybody above B level, so never been in a close fight.

I was a HUGE HUGE Bud fan. As time passed so did his career. Then with his latest comment that he doesn’t need Spence to form his legacy told me everything I needed to know where his mind is at.

Resume has everything to do with a boxer. It tells us what competition he has faced to get where he is at. At the lower weight classes he was an amazing specimen. Since WW he has yet to fight anyone of substance.

I don’t care what ESPN, analysts, et all say about what he looks like. Loma walked on water according to all the experts and for a little he did until he faced an actual opponent in the weight class. Bud is a good fighter yet he won’t fight anyone on the caliber Spence has faced and Spence did so even AFTER a life altering accident while Bud continues to dither.
I’d agree with you that it’s really disappointing hearing that come from Crawford’s mouth. But without context who knows - he could just have been on the defensive about the validity of his career in the event a Spence fight didn’t happen.

Crawford is in a difficult position in that Top Rank doesn’t have much competition for him at WW, and I can’t blame him for taking the amazing contract he was offered. Especially when to my knowledge, no similar contract was forthcoming with PBC and no names were guaranteed by signing with them. I mean, look how long it took for ESJ to get fights until Porter eventually stepped up.

At the end of the day, ESJ’s resume isn’t exactly stellar either and he can’t fall back on being a multi-division champ. Facts are both fighters need each other, and statements about whose resume is better and who is more popular are irrelevant. If ESJ is calling out a Pac and ignoring TC, then that to me is pretty shameful.

Pretty much this. People feel like he is the best because he was never in competitive fight.

Spence could of used his long jab against Porter much more. Porter eats jabs up the middle. If Spence wouldn't of said he will fight Porters fight b4 he did it I'd be saying the same as u.

Thats why they are getting muscled by bullsht exhibitions. Pac can cash out however he wants at this point, hes earned that right.
Got it but Pac needs the $$ because he has had major tax issues even as his promoter Arum is a tax attorney. I still can't understand that one.
And with that, Rocky Marciano was 49-0 and the only fighters u recognize on his resume was Joe Loiuse who was 38 while Marciano was only 28. Jersey Joe was 38 and Archie Moore was 41. U have to excuse me if I don't see it like u with Pac is still holding a 147 champion belt. Perhaps Pac should retire if he doesn't want to fight.
