Mayweather - McGregor was an exhibition

It shouldn`t be counted in official Floyd`s record. It was just like that crap recently, Jones -Tyson and so on. McGregor is not a boxer and he can`t box.

No, it was a legitimate fight headlining a card with championships on the line. There was a huge amount of betting on the event.

Calling it an exhibition gets Floyd off the hook. He took his somewhat credible 49-0 legacy into a fight with a guy who had a professional record of 0-0-0.

    To me, legacy over.

Conor Mcgregor was a trained fighter, boxing was not totally alien to him 'As boxing is apart of mixed martial arts'.

Mcgregor was at the peak of his powers, I believe Mayweather deserved big credit for beating him the way he did etc

It should not been a win on his boxing record, legacy cannot go down on winning its impossible no matter who you beat.

Legacy can only go down if you lose.

Sanction by Nevada as an official bout. And at least Mctap is a trained fighter.

When boxers get humiliated in the octagon, is it classified as an exhibition fight?

It was a sanctioned cash grab.

You know what, I hope that more professional fighters can find some form a niche once their "professional" career is over.

It is easy to cast judgement as fans, but looking at things the sport offers very little to people who committed themselves to it for the best part of their life.

Actually it does count and is an official boxing win for Mayweather in all the record books. I don't consider it a boxing win because Conor is an MMA fighter and not a pro boxer. But I am not the boss of pro boxing and have no say in the matter. It really does not matter much since intelligent boxing fans know it is not a real boxing win for a champion of Mayweather's caliber. No doubt Conor could probably beat a few pro boxers under boxing rules but not any good pro boxers his same weight.
