Imo even that Thurman would not have beaten the Spence of now. If Collazo hurt Thurman to the body just imagine what Spence would do!

The Thurman of now is just looking to cash out.

Maybe but styles make fights and i believe a hungry Thurman can beat Spence but not the Thurman of today. We will never know but I respect your opinion.

Manny’s win over Thurman is still better than any win at WW by either Spence or Crawford.

        Crazy.

          Yours too, thanks.

It's actually the "styles makes fights" thing that leads me to the conclusion that even the Thurman of three years (or more) back would not have coped well with Spence's body work.

The Thurman of today; no chance imo.

          Thanks again.

So Mikey is at worst top 10 with 1 L @147. What was he rated before the L at 147?
He wasn't rated. Being top 5 at 135 will not put you in any ratings in a class you have never fought in. And after the L to Spence, he still wasn't ranked by TBRB or Ring. Not until he beat Vargas.

So yeah, not ranked. Likely why nobody was impressed by Spence shutting out Garcia.

Nah, sometimes they rank them and sometimes they don't. Wasn't Crawford ranked when he moved up?

I don't really remember, that's why I asked. But even then, it sort of proves how well Mikey is well-received to still be ranked 10 even after an L to Spence and one win in the division.

I'm personally not over the moon about him beating Mikey but he's not as bad as some others like Kavaliauskas who only lost to Bud and has a win following that but still outside top 10.

I think Mikey got some made up strap for the Vargas fight, like a diamond belt? Pretty sure champs get automatically put in the top 10.

And yeah, mean machine looked impressive in his loss too. I’d put him in the top ten over Mikey at 147
