    Canelo cherrypicking exposed

Since winning a SD agaisnt Lara in 2014 he has sought to find the path of least resistence, searching out the weakest belt holders of each division.

i say since Lara because i thought that was the last time Canelo wanted to challenge himself agaisnt a high risk low reward boxer, many included myself thought he lost, but it was a 7-5/draw either way type fight

    next fight is:

Kirkland: who had not fought in 2 years. fair enough they wanted a highlight reel KO after the Lara fight which wasnt a great look

Since Golovkin has been calling him out around this time, the defence was Canelo is too small and is not a natural MW.

So he fights a tiny faded Cotto instead...at middleweight...

Khan: disgraceful mismatch. they needed another highlight reel since the Cotto fight was again, not a good look.

Golovkin is calling for the fight again. instead Canelo moves back down to 154 to seek out the weakest beldholder in:

Liam Smith: who won a vacant WBO (fisheyes special) agaisnt John Thompson. Liam smith had a padded record, mostly journeymen, best win was Jason Welborn.

To build off another highlight reel KO in another mismatch Canelo then moves from 154 to fight at a 164 catchweight

    Chavez Jr: why?

in 2017 Canelo finally fights Golovkin after waiting 2 years, team Canelo clearly feel that the time is right after Golovkin didnt looked great in a close fight w Jacobs.

Clearly loses the fight. Pretends he won, his fans boo him and he gets busted for taking PEDS for the rematch

Golovkin 2: wins a razor close decision in a fight where most thought he still lost. like the Lara fight it was a 7-5 either way/draw type fight.

Instead of the trilogy that the fans demand, Canelo then moves up to 168 to seek out the weakest belt holder in:

Rocky Fielding: A fringe euro level fighter who won a vacant WBA belt.

Moves back down to MW and fights

Danny Jacobs: I must admit i didnt watch this fight, looking at the scorecards, 115-113 x2 basically translates to, could of gone either way for a Canelo scorecard.

Canelo then moves from MW to LHW to fight a washed Kovalev on short notice after he nearly got knocked out 2 months prior (i didnt watch this fight either for the record)

Now we have Canelo moving back down again to seek out the weakest beld holder in:

Callum Smith: (again on short notice) who just lost to a blown up middleweight in John Ryder.

So this is the Canelo MO...

move up and down the divisions seeking out the weakest belt holders.

Is this the mark of a p4p champion? seeking the path of least resistence? and stacking the deck to make sure you have every single advantage over them?

Of course all this will be dismissed as 'hater talk' or 'spinning the narrative of a great resume'

While i agree, on paper its a great resume.

In reality its a mirage full of lies, corruption & cheating.

it is already known long time ago. so there's no surprise. mayweather is the only non-cherry picked he did. but we all know why, ofcourse for a big payday.

Fighting Smith is cherrypicking? He is the ring champ at SM? From middle-lightheavy there are much easier belts to go for! At LH there is pascal, krasniqi or Wbo is vacant, at SM plant or Saunders are arguably easier fights, Andrade or Charlo at MW? Name a tougher fight that smith, golovkin? Maybe Bivol? It’s hardly cherry picking!!

Floyd was 37 at the time, and significantly smaller. He was assumed to have been a cherry.

Ah yes, because any other middleweight would've beaten Kov that night, right?

There are easier belts to go for agaisnt no names which cannot be made because there is zero interest in Canelo fighting Krasniqi, who no casual has ever heard of. Pascal is debateable whether thats an easier fight than Smith or not.

As i have said, Smith just lost to John ****ing Ryder. Who is not even a natural 168er FFS.
He shouldnt even be holding a belt right now.

Hes fighting Callum Smith instead of Benevidez, Plant or Saunders.

Hes fighting a shot to bits Kovalev on short notice, instead of Bivol or Beterbiev

Hes fighting Liam Smith instead of Charlo or the Lara rematch.

Hes fighting Rocky Fielding when he could of fought Gilberto Ramirez which would of been a massive fight especially in Mexico, Zurdo is not even very good, but hes definately better than ****ing Rocky Fielding

If you dont think thats Cherrypicking then i dunno what to tell you.

Don’t get me wrong he does cherry pick opponents, agree Kovalev and Fielding are great examples of this, I just don’t agree by picking Smith he is cherry picking, or if he is I think he’s in for a rude awakening. Ignore the Ryder fight and Smith is dangerous! Fielding beat Ryder, Smith beat Fielding in a round! So you can’t define a fighter on one performance! Canelo didn’t look anything special against Mathew Hatton!!

Plant and saunders are proven world level fighters. Callum Smith is not, unless you want to claim that wasnt a shot to bits George Groves?
