Comments Thread For: Saunders: Four, Five Weeks Not Enough Time For Smith To Prepare To Beat Canelo

Billy Joe Saunders respects Callum Smith's skills. Under normal circumstances, he'd give Smith a legitimate shot to upset Canelo Alvarez in their 168-pound title fight. Saunders just doesn't think Smith will have had enough time to properly prepare for such a difficult fight by the time they enter the ring December 19 at Alamodome in San Antonio.

They both have 4-5 weeks to train. They are both champions and should eat, sleep, box. This is what separates the pretenders vs HOF boxers. Saunders would need 2-3 months just to cut weight because he let’s himself go and doesn’t stay in the gym. This is why I would never pick him to beat any top level guys

Yeah that’s it, give Smith and Saunders 3 or 4 months and they both beat Canelo. Just admit Smith’s not gonna cut it and save the lame pre-excuses lazy chum

It's more than enough time for professionals who stay in shape, unlike Silly Hoe. Guys with shady advisors are the worst. Can't stand them.

Smith will probably just spend the time trying to lose weight and get over jetlag while Canelo has been juicing in expectation of this date for months. Judges paid off. Canelo really does have to have every advantage, waited for Ryder to beat Smith first as well

More dumb stuff coming out of Saunders mouth. There were already pictures circulating of Smith before the fight showing him training and in shape. Also there is no telling what time frame Canelo has been training due to all the lawsuits.

This just as dumb as Floyd waiting for Pac to age to fight him.

5 weeks is enough time to game plan

If he entered camp out of shape then he's not very professional

But it’s enough time for Canelo to train and beat Smith? Soooo in other words Smith and Saunders are not on Canelo’s level??
